To those of you who have sent your invites out, how are you doing so far with RSVPs?  So far, we have 79 yes, 2 no, and 120 that still need to come in.  Our RSVP due date is October 2nd.

We received 2 back so far! Well, techincally 4, but I already had my parents and sister's.

We have all yes! Though my FI's aunt is coming and not his uncle, so I guess that is techincally 1 no!

I can't wait till more come in!

I stopped at Staples last night and bought poster board and flags so we can start the seating chart
  • We sent ours out a bit early, but out cutoff date is Oct 1 since we're doing a lot of our own food, need to know how much we need to get to prepare. We invited 120, 47 have said yes, 17 said no (with a couple really hopefuls but for now are no), so 56 haven't replied yet.  We're doing online RSVP so a handful of the 'yes' responses were just people who called or messaged me they would be there. I think a lot of the remainder is going to be me having to call or email people I don't have phone numbers for and pestering them on the cutoff date ;)

  • Well my numbers are in my siggy.  They are up to date.  The "no's" we had come in were expected people - one has health issues (but obviously I had to send the invite out of politeness), 1 is working and lives across the country and won't be getting time off work, the other 4 same thing, live across the country and simply cannot afford to come home.  I figured these 6 people were not coming to begin with so their responses weren't surprises.

The other 69 are all yes and we are waiting on the rest.  People are slow.  But our RSVP date is Sept 17th, we won't be calling for missing responses until the first week of October.  I imagine some people won't put theirs in the mail until Sept 17th anyway.

One cousin of mine was nagging since June for an invite.  She got hers in the mail the other week and told my aunt (her mom) "yeah we probably won't be going, its too close to Christmas".  Seriously?  Oh well, just send your "decline" back and leave it be!

Just wish I had a better ballpark figure so I could safely order favours without purchasing way too many!

  • People started getting our invites on Saturday, so I'm hoping to start getting some back this week!  I've already had one person text me asking how many guests she could bring, when the invite was only address to her.  I'm glad she at least asked though before assuming she could bring extra people!

I saw you mentioned this before (somewhere) and plan on doing that too!
  • Ours are going out in the mail today so I'm excited to see them start rolling in (hopefully) soon! :)
  • We have 61 yes, 4 no, and still waiting on another 70 ppl. 35 invites
  • We have technically only received 6 RSVP cards in the mail, but we have 80 confirmed who have purchased plane tickets and booked hotel rooms and also local family members. 3 No, and still waiting for the other 180ish. RSVP date is Oct 1. Goodness, can't believe our list got so big

    We got married 11/3/12!!

  • I just mailed mine today so hopefully they'll start rolling in! I do have 2 because I have a friend who is way ahead of the game. We're doing online RSVP's to save money, so a friend was on our wedding website and went ahead and RSVPed. Ha!

  • Hi, I was not planning to mail ours out until the week of 9/17. We are having our envelopes done by a calligrapher. If she has them ready and returned to us sooner, I will send them out. We don't need our final count until Monday 11/5.

We are having a small wedding, so sent them out early!

We have 26 yes, 2 nos and are waiting on 4.

We put our rsvp date at 9/15 as our wedding is 11/4 and with it being so small, we wanted flexability to invite a few others if we had the space.

But... my awesome stationary vendor is also doing our place cards and menus and she needs the final #s and names at the end of this week due to her work volume, so I will be pushing the last 4 to get us answers sooner then later.

Out of 115 invitations out...35 RSVP cards came back yes...which equals 75 ppl so far. So still waiting to hear from 70 invitations.....

I was planning to do this and completely forgot until they envelopes were already sealed. Of course it was too late at that point:( I hope people write their names because that is going to be a huge unnecessary pain!

  • I was averaging about 1-2 per day, but haven't received any in almost a week. I still have about 90 guests who haven't responded & my reply by date is Oct. 1st. I'm a little OCD about getting things done early so I've been freaking out a little that so many people still haven't replied. I am so tempted to say something at my bridal shower this weekend to remind people to send in replys, but that's probably not the proper thing to do. Oh well, thinking I'll get a huge rush of them at the end of the month.

Several people handed them back to us on the spot.  As far as the mail goes, one day we had 4, last night had 3.  Typically it has been 1-2 a day then days in between with none.  Last week I think we only received 1 and that was given to us in person.  So I expect where we had 3 last night, we'll have none today (and we only recieved 3 in the mail in total this week, 3 in person).

I understand your frustration.  You feel like saying something, but then I think, its not the rsvp date yet, chill, also it wouldn't be very proper.  I am going to give people the benefit of the doubt and leave them alone for the month of Sept (despite how much that kills me! lol). The first week-2nd week of October start following up with delinquents! haha.  And most are my own family which surprises me!!

An RSVP date 7 weeks before the wedding is too soon.  If you didn't do the incredibly rude B list, you wouldn't have that problem.

I also wouldn't be harrassing people before the RSVP date.....that's rude too!
