Need advice

Hello!

So my engagement pictures are in but I have a question. I got a call from the owner of the studio to tell me that they were done, he said that my free engagement session was technically supposed to be in studio not out on sites. ( I did not know this) so he recommended that I tip my photographer, my question is what do I tip her?

And I hope that he doesn't feel like I took advantage. :/

Re: Need advice

  • I mean, they should have informed you of that policy when you booked your e-pics but what's done is done, I guess. I wouldn't feel badly about that, it's totally not your fault that they didn't tell you.

I would probably tip your photographer like $25 for doing your e-pics (less time, less work than an actual wedding). You could even give him/her a gift card to Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts or something if you don't feel comfortable giving cash.

  • That's what my opinion is, I mean they're giving us a ton because it is a family friend but it was not clarified on my paperwork that looked at to book the e-pics.

  • Ummm I think they're being ridiculous.  They should have told you that e-pics are done in studio... I wouldn't tip them normally, but if it's a friend, I guess I'd go with rdr's suggestion.

  • I think that is completely ridiculous, why would the owner mention anything about a tip?

  • I think its rediculous that they did not inform you of this beforehand. Is the photographer even going to be there when you pick up your stuff? Very strange indeed.

  • I don't know, it seemed weird to me.

He thought that he said it was a in studio shoot and instead we went out and did location stuff.

<div>This still doesn't really explain why he didn't tell you (even a second time, if he thought he did once), especially when you were discussing location with him? Odd.</div><div>But I agree that no more than $25 is suffice, especially since there was a miscommunication on their end.</div>
