wedding in the park

Just looking to see if anyone had any feedback to share. I have just started to look for a venue for my wedding. I was thinking about trying for a wedding in the park. No special one in mind. I was hoping for some direction as to things that were good or bad about it. Most of our guests will be from out of town. (Could be anywhere from 20-100 people. Unsure quite yet as it is not for another year and a half.)

    It kind of depends on which park you are close to your desired location for your wedding.  Which city or town would you like to be close to? 
    July 16, Our Wedding Day, is also International Juggling Day!

    Sarah P Duke Gardens (durham). They are a little expensve - $700, thy provide 50 chairs set up. They have a few different ceremony sites- pergola, fish pond, ampetheatre and a few others. We are having out April Wedding there this year. One of my favorite places in the triangle!!

    I was at Duke Gardens twice (once to scope it out and once for my e-pics photo shoot). Both times there was a wedding going on. Nothing was roped off for privacy for the wedding. It was a little strange to see the bride and her escort and BM's just hanging out and waiting for the music cue. To me, weddings are more personal than that. You also have to hope that other people at the park will be respectful and stay away from your ceremony area and that non-guest parents will control their children. But if it doesn't bother you, park weddings can be very beautiful. Especially Duke Gardens.
