Sweetheart Tables/Deserts and other things

Ladies,

Are you doing sweetheart tables or a full head table? Are you doing an additional desert along with your cake or no?

I was considering doing a little shot glass full of mousse with a whip cream and cherry topping but wasn't sure.

My theme is "A Soulful Kind of Love" so is mousse soulful? 0_o Don't laugh yall lol.

We are doing a sweetheart table... I always hated the headtable and would like some private time to eat with my hubby. I dont know about the dessert table yet. I have to check the budget to see if it can happen...

a viennese hour is an hour of a ridiculous amount of dessert, from cakes, to pies, to ice cream to my milk and cookie shot glasses and mini ice cream cones lol it has ALOT

I am doing a sweetheart table as well....but I am only doing cake!! FI says the guests dont need all of that sweet stuff.

My fiancee would have said the same exact thing, but when I negotiated our package I had them to add the Viennese Hour and a Vodka Luge at no additional cost.

well we don't have a big party, I think we'll just have a table for us...

I want a candy bar and our cake, and cake pops (I am obessed with cake pops), some cupcakes, cake bites and cake balls...

Abyss...I'm so jealous of your vodka luge...I wanted one so bad but noooooooooooo, our venue has this crap with their insurance where they can't serve liquor as a 'straight shot' unless its what they consider a cordial beverage or something like that (ex: hennessey, remy martin, etc). I was so pissed.

@2010 I am finding that more and more venues are not offering shots b/c of those legal issues. I'm pretty sure it makes sense BUT at the end of the day if I'm going to have cognac it's almost just as BAD as having a shot of vodka, rum, tequila of whatever libation you chose.

At some of these venues, when you're first booking you can get them to budge b/c you're a potential client, and as sucky as it sounds the more people you have coming the more they're willing to negotiate and give you what you want. I used it to my advantage b/c if I'm guaranteeing you 150people with a possibility of 260 I want what I want and I would assume you'd be wise enough to give it to me.

sometimes we have to use what we got to get what we want {in a non players club kind of way}

I am having a sweetheart table. I have never liked seeing the head table. Our package contains a dessert but Im also doing mini cupcakes that will be placed on every table.

Dessert buffets get pricy but for soulful love why dont you make or have red velvet cake cupcakes or childhood candies like lemonheads, or screwballs. FI and are doing wedding cake, w/ a milk and cookies bar

We are doing a sweetheart table... and our menu isn't fully set yet, but I think we will have a variety of cheesecakes in addition to the wedding cake and grooms cake.

My venue said the same thing! I haven't broke the news to my FI and his shot loving friends! They also won't do anything mixed with red bull because they said they don't want "high drunks" on their property

As of now we are doing a sweetheart table up top and our BP down below unless the BP decides to bring dates, if so we will sit them at separate tables.

We are only having the wedding cake, grooms cake, and candy buffet. Possibly red velvet cupcakes made by my coworker.... She made me love red velvet cake

So the concensus is that majority of us seem to be doing the sweetheart but the jury is out on the desserts. Ahhhhhhhhhhh I don't know what to do lol.

We're doing a sweetheart table. FI wants a head table, but I told him absolutely not. He luvs having fam & friends together, but I told him I would prefer for just us to have that time alone cause we won't be able to really have that time until later that night. He finally agreed...lol!

As far as dessert, just cake for us. When all children were allowed, I was doing a candy buffet. But I scratched that since the only children attending are in the bridal party.

We're also doing a sweet-heart table, we thought about doing the head table but realized it's pointless because ppl are going toleave the table anyways to go sit with their spouse & kids or with their friends.

We're just doing the wedding cake & candy buffet..

prettymami2 that is our them as well, lol! but we are only doing a sweet heart table. and yes we are also doing a candy buffet, ice cream buffet and cookies and baked goods and pastries!!!!
