RecoveringActor - NWR

DH and I honeymooned in Ireland May 21-31.  We stayed in Killarney for a week and then went to Doolin for 3 days.  What part of the country were you in and did you LOVE it??  We had so much fun, we're seriously planning to move there someday...Dingle penninsula was our favorite part, so we've been looking at houses there.  I can't say I would have minded being stuck there an extra 3 days :)

My best friend was living there at the time... so I stayed with her in this little town in County Kildare.  It was AMAZING and I wish I could go back YESTERDAY.  I miss all the people that I met and spent time with... :(

I spent 3 days in Dublin... then we took a day trip to Malahide (which is just outside of Dublin... it's a sea-side town and very quaint).  We had talked about going to Newbridge or taking another day trip to someplace else, but after 3 days in Dublin we were both BEAT so we spent the rest of my trip in Maynooth (the town I stayed in in Co. Kildare).  Then I got stuck there because of the volcano... so one of the day trips we had talked about doing, one of my new friends took me to go see... the Wicklow Mountains.  Gorgeous.  We went to this town called Glendalough, and it's actually the beginning on a pilgrimage through the Wicklow Mountains.  They used to do it barefoot, and it takes 4 days.  And it starts in Glendalough at this little church (St. Kevin's Church, I think?) which is one of the oldest churches in Ireland.  And it ends in a pub, naturally.

Now my best friend (and MOH!) is back in the states... in Philly... but I know she misses it.  The friend that took me out to Wickow joked when I got engaged that he was going to come here and give FI a run for his money.  WHEN I do go back, I want to see the west coast of Ireland.  Galway, Cliffs of Moher... and maybe even where my family is from... Connemara in Co. Clare.
Paprika: I like it when you burp in my ear. It really turns me on.

O.M.G, you HAVE to see the Cliffs of Moher.  They were AMAZING!!  I have never in my life seen anything so breathtaking.  They were pretty much the reason we traveled the hour and a half from Killarney to Doolin.  And when you go, I would highly recommend checking in to the Churchfield B&B.  It's run by Maeve and she is THE BEST.  Her pancakes w/berry syrup are to die for.  Doolin is in Co. Clare so you'd be close already :)  I think it was like 15 minutes from the B&B to the cliffs.  If you want to friend me on FB, I have TONS of pics up of the whole trip (lwirbisk at dtcc dot edu), and I'd love to see any pics you have too!  And, when you see the cliffs, keep an eye out for a 3 legged Border Collie.  He was roaming the cliffs the day we went, and seemed to know them like the back of his, um, paw?  So I named him "Moher", because they were obviously his cliffs :)  He's such a sweet dog, and was pretty much our guide.  He'd get ahead of us a little bit, then stop, turn around and look at us to make sure we were following, and then head on a little further, stop, turn around, you get the idea, LOL.

DH and I have decided that we're going to renew our vows at St. Mary's cathedral (Killarney, Co. Kerry); it's a really old gothic church and is just gorgeous.  I have lots of pictures of that too :)  I should stop here, because I could keep going on and on and on about Ireland...
