Ladies!! Anyone have any suggestions on a ceremony site??

Hey there ladies!!

My FI and I are in a little bit of a bind. We're getting married July 2012 and need to find a ceremony site asap as we have already booked our reception site. We were planning on using First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Downtown, but sadly the Church caught fire last week. The Pastor said the repairs are expected to take up to a year. :(

We are both Christians and would love to marry in a church. We're looking for a location with some flexibilty (use our own Pastor, music, etc.) and can accommodate 350 ppl. Any where in the Downtown-Galleria Area (preferably more Downtown) will work for us. The A.D. Bruce Religious Center is probably at the top of our list (I know its not a "Church", but they allow the flexibility that we are looking for). The only reason we haven't booked there yet is the capacity is only  250 and my FI doesnt like the red carpet. lol

Thanks a ton, ladies!!

I was going to suggest the AD religion center.  my friend got married there about a year ago and it is really pretty. not that pictures are the most important thing, but they got some really neat pretty pictures.

Thanks jen2013! I think it's a lovely place just wish it was a little bigger! The price is great too!! If we cant find a place to fit our needs we may have to invite our close friends and family to the ceremony and everyone else to the reception only. I think with some convincing my FI can look past the red carpet...

LOL I didn't like the carpet at our church either, but on the day-of you aren't even going to notice it I swear! You are going to be too busy staring at your man trying not to cry!

Have you tried First Methodist Houston Downtown? I grew up there, beautiful church. Not sure what their policies are on outside officiants though. It's a huge church, plenty of room for 350 :)

University of Houston campus has a chapel that you can get married, and you don't have to be student and in order to reserve it.

Thanks ladies! We're probably going to go with AD Bruce Center (U of Houston). My FI has gotten over the red carpet, now were just concerned with our ceremony being over capacity... I thought finding a ceremony location would be the least of our worries! who'd thought????  Thank you are for your suggestions/advice! :)
