Bridal Shower vent

My bridesmaids kept asking me about what they needed to do for the bridal shower. I told them it was up to them and what they wanted to do. So they kept asking me so I asked if my mom would step in and coordinate it and just ask them for help/opinions. Well mom contacted everyone and only 2 have even made an effort to come up with ideas etc. So this puts me having to help mom out (which I don't mind) I have just finished filling out 50 invites and got all the addresses labeled and ready to go. PLUS, I have to make the chicken salad for the crossiant sandwiches on the day of the bridal shower. I really don't mind helping out and my bridesmaids seem pretty clueless but it's frustrating when I really wanted it all to be a surprise. There is now no surprise element at all. I know who's invited, what we are eating, where it's going to be, etc. I was really hoping the girls would take control so I would have at least one thing that didn't have my name all over it for this wedding. Sorry if I'm sounding a bit whiney. I'm so grateful mom is steppiing up and she is getting some help from FI's mom as well. I really don't mind helping, I just wanted one surprise.

I was in the same boat kinda.... I only had 2 bridesmaids offer to help and my mom had to step in and throw the whole thing. (to which I had to help a lot) I'm sorry this has happened to you too

That really stinks that you aren't getting your surprise element of your shower - but the gifts will be a surprise!

I guess I don't really have anything to offer to try and help make you feel better, just try and look on the bright side that you actually are getting to have a bridal shower.

I'm sorry. I'm kind of in the same boat. My MOH and one other bridesmaid are from out of state, so my FMIL and FSIL offered to throw it for me. (My mom lives out of state too.) My FSIL is one of the bridesmaids, so I guess she is the only one helping. I know where it is, the menu and who is coming too. I'm just excited to be with all of my girlswith some good food though. The presents will be a surprise.

My was somewhat the same, the only difference was that my MOH threw the shower and never asked my bridesmaid for help, the day before she was sooo overwhelmed that she broke down with the whole thing so I had to jump in and help. so needless to say, the day before i took her shopping, and did all the set up. the day of, i helped her make the finger sandwiches. All in all, I LOVED everything and the outcome, she just was too afraid to deligate or ask for help. but i don't mind, cuz i'm grateful i had a shower...some people don't even get that.
