First looks location

So the entire WP is meeting at the hotel and riding in the limo bus to the picture/ceremony location.  This means FI and I will have to do first look photos at the hotel.  The picture below is the hotel lobby.  Do you think this would be an ok area to take the pictures without looking cheesy?  I was thinking we could do a photo with me on the balcony and him facing away below before he actually gets to see me.  Then do actual first look by the fireplace?  What are your thoughts ladies?
I'll have to scout outside to see if there is a better setting for these pictures.  But the weather in MN at the end of October is unpredictable, I don't want to have my only option outside.

    The hotel looks ok...but if you don't truly love it, you could also take separate cars to a different location.  FI and I are getting ready at the same hotel too, but in different rooms.  We're taking separate cars to our first look location.

    I like it.  I might ask the hotel staff if you could move the furniture away from the fire place for the pics.  It would give you more room for everything.
