Inexpensive Minneapolis Reception Venues

My FI and I are having 2 wedding receptions. One in STL after the ceremony and another a week after our honeymoon in MSP.

I am looking for a place that is inexpensive, can hold about 80 people.

Also, catering recommendations would be appreciated.

What do you consider "inexpensive?" Do you have a total minimum in mind? Or a per person amount?

I do not want to spend more thant $1,500 including rental of the venue. It is going to be very casual.

I'd check with some of the restaurants in town; a lot of them will let you rent out spaces. Maybe go with your favorite kind of food?

What time of year? threemarie had a beautiful at-home reception in a park in St. Paul (I was lucky enough to be a guest). She had picnic-style food catered in (fried chicken, potato salad, etc), and I think she said she got it for some rediculously cheap price (like under $5 per person if I recall). It had a backyard bbq feel, but she was still able to do some decorating and make it look nice. Maybe you could page her for more details.
