Ok ladies, what is everyone doing for their escort cards?  I can't make up my mind and I could use some inspiration!

I got folded business cards from vista print.  The front looks like a ticket and I will write their name there.   On the inside, I'll write the table number and table name (movies) where they are seated.

I personally didn't like the idea of individual cards and decided to do a thick poster board on an easel...all custom designed with our colors and symbol that we've carried through on all of our stationary.

My mom is making homemade bite sized whoopie pies and putting them in plastic containers (a family friend is a baker so she has these cute small see through containers) and we are putting the table number on the top of the container and then a ribbon with a tag which will have the person's name on it. I have a description of the dessert and what it means to Maine in a picture frame to put on an easel behind them.

We kind of have a Maine wedding theme going on as almost all my friends live out of state so I thought it would be neat to show them our controversial "state dessert" :)

I love that idea Meg!  If you wouldn't mind sharing the story, I am actually thinking of putting whoopie pies in my welcome bags because they are a "maine" treat.  From what I read, there is debate between Mainers and the Amish, right?

I think whoopie pies are the state "treat" and blueberry pie (cobbler? crsip?) is the state "dessert."

Anyway, we're having kind of a Maine theme, too, for all of our out-of-towners, so we're getting little jars of blueberry jam that are locally made near us and attaching the cards to them.

I think we are going to use a poster of some sort with all of the names listed under each table.  For place cards i think we will be using the floded business card from vistaprint.

You are correct! It is the official ME treat but they were trying to make it the official dessert. I don't think it worked out that. Either way, I still associate it with Maine. :)

I bought ones that matched my invitations, nothing too creative. They have sea shells on them.. I'll write their names & table numbers on them!

I have an old 8 pane window that am going to number and list guest names. I just need one more. We have 16 tables.
Hopefully it will look something like this :)

using a crate of blue seaglass and propping the cream colored cards w/names up in it.

also have whoopie pies as a favor - my fiance grew up down the road from where the isamax shop is!

    mmm...whoopie pies!  lol

So I am debating between just setting out the cards, getting a wooden box and filling it with fake flower petals (hydragea probably since that's everywhere), taking a piece of foam and attaching flowers to it (like the carnation thing you see) and placing cards on top, or just the other day I saw the cutest little set up.  It's wheat grass in a wooden box and they made a little sign that said "find your table" and stuck it in the grass and then created some banners and hung the escort cards with mini clothes pins.  It was beyond adorable. Here's the link:  http://ruffledblog.com/diy-entry-6-love-birds-on-a-wire-seating-chart/

My sister is super crafty and I know she would love to make this for me.   I love this but wonder if it doesn't match the rest of my decor/theme which is really just a lot of candles and flowers.  Do you think it would look silly?  I suppose we could put some flowers around it to help tie it in?

I can't believe I am worrying about such things!   Like anyone else but me will care.   lol.

I bought some artificial starfish from the Christmas Tree Shop and I'm going to tie ivory escort cards to them.

Chrispygal - loooove that blog idea! So adorable! I also wonder re: the details, who else cares but me? I know FI could care less about certain things. i.e. my need for bubbles. hahaha.

    Hcorrigan - those are adorable!

Ivyrose - love the starfish. :)

i'm not sure what I'm going to do. You ladies are much more creative than I've been! I know we get escort cards from our venue. i think I'm going to figure it out when I get them. I'm thinking about tacking these on to a small piece of fruit. Originally I was going to do apples before I moved up my date....not sure what to do for a spring-type fruit. Any ideas?
