Bouquet preservation

I got married on Saturday and never gave it a thought about preserving my flowers. They are so pretty and I want to keep them. I asked my florist about it, and she didn't have any ideas. I called around to a few florists, and I also googled. I found a place I can ship them to, bu the flowers are 4 days old at this point and it's also very expensive. Michael's sells the sylica gel. I could also hang them upside down to dry out. I'm thinking I would like to put them in a shadow box at some point (once dried or whatever). What are you ladies doing? I am a total loss.

Re: Bouquet preservation

  • They are beautiful! I've found a website that you can ship them too as well but I think they recommended within 3 days.

I remember getting something about that from a bridal show when I first got engaged.  www.timelessmoments.com
They shadow box it, if that's what you want, but it looks like they can also turn your flowers into jewelry.  I saved the ad because I thought it was interesting.  It looks like they are Cleveland based.

  • My sister used this stuff that we got at the Bloomsburg fair one year when she got married.  It worked really nicely and held the color of her flowers.  I plan on using it myself- it wasn't messy or too expensive.

  • I picked some of the roses and have them hanging upside down to dry out.

  • I have heard you can spray them with hairspray and that helps.  I also saw this on Pinterest (clicky) and I love the idea!

    Neat idea!
  • I thought the same thing with my flowers! They were beautiful peonies and I found this site online that puts it in a shadow box thingy, but it was $900!! I think I will keep mine in the vase for now... maybe flip them and hang them in my old room at my parents house, my sister kept hers there haha.
