To all of my full figured women, how was dress shopping for you? Also who is your favorite wedding dress designer, that you feel cater to our needs and also gives us the wow factor that we all want!

Dress shopping was not the most fun for me. I found that, the max amount of dresses I got to try on being plus sized was about 4 in each store. I didn't go to david's bridal but I think they might have more of a plus size section. I advise calling ahead and asking what the plus size collection is like in each store, ask them about how many dresses they have. Also check in your area for a plus size bridal store, I was surprised to find one. I ended up with an Allure gown. I think you could pick pretty much any designer and find your size, the problem is being able to try the dress on in the store since most stores don't carry plus sizes. I say definitely approach dress shopping with an open mind. Don't be afraid to pick something that you like even if they don't have your size in it. If you could at least get into the dress without it even zipping up, they will clip the dress on you so you get an idea of what it will look like on you.

Actually dress shopping was fun and I didnt get too stressed out. I found my dress a local bridal shop instead of DBs. Im a 22 and I order my dress in a 20..lawd help me..lol I found Maggie Sottero and Alfredo Angelo to give me a good fit. My dress is a Maggie. Good luck !

I second this!!! I was MORTIFIED to go dress shopping. so i bought one online from china. Came back completely SH*TTY! took me 5 months to dispute charge and get money back. I ended up taking a friday off work. googled wedding shops in area ( i wouldn't have known some were there if i didn't). I then called around, asked them about their plus sizes. then mapped out a driving plan so i wouldnt be back-tracking. I went to about 8 shops tried on about 50 different dresses. the last one i stopped at she had a WHOLE backroom stockpiled. and I found my dress there.

The dressing rooms are spacious and really comfortable. They "jack" you up and everything. LOL! I had a really nice experience and got my gown at a wonderful price.

I literally went into every store here when he first proposed. Call me crazy but I told myself after trying on numerous dresses then what I refused to buy size wise. I like Allure dresses best, but ended up with a dress from David's. part of the reason was that they had my size so I could put it on. Ordered a size down.

Well I really was unsure of the sizing... Wedding dress sizing I am in between a 14 and 16... But my dress found me in a lil bridal salon...Sooo I am good.. But I really did want to go there..

I really like Maggie Sottero dresses they really help suck you in and like a previous posters said Davids Bridal and Alfred Angelo both have nice plus size collections
