Getting in Shape

Grr. Vent.

So, between May and December, I lost 20 lbs on weight watchers. I was pretty excited. I maintained that weight over Thanksgiving, I was proud of that, too. Then, I gained a pound for no reason. I can get over this. I gained 1.5 over Christmas, probably to be expected. Last week, I ate more than usual, but also added in an extra workout, which usually allows me to maintain. I gained a pound.

My first dress fitting is in 4 weeks, and I just want to be back at that 20 pounds. Or more. I know I need to stick to plan better, but seriously, why now??

  • I know you're pissed, but relax.  It's your first fitting and you have four months til your wedding.  When is your second fitting?  If you get back on plan and keep at it, those 3.5 pounds can be gone in a month.  I'm working to relose what what gained over the holidays too.  Seeing the numbers on the scale creep back up is a terrible feeling.

  • Wait, why are you having your first fitting so soon?  I think it's way too soon, especially if you're still losing weight.

J&K is totally right.  A lot can change in 4 months.
  • As long as you wait for sides later, and maybe mention that you are trying to lose weight, b/c straps will need to be adjusted if you lose weight in your bust.

p.s. congrats on the 20 lbs!!! You already recognize the need to try and lose back those 2+lbs. You got plenty of time, just stick with it!!!

  • Its probably too early for a fitting. The lady doing alternations on my dress isn't having me come in for my first fitting until April 21st and my wedding isn't until June 8th. She knows I'm still wanting to lose 40 lbs by June so the April 21st is just to get together and see the progress I've made. But she's really good and I can push it till later May. I"m just keeping her in the loop and she's monitoring my progress/fitting. You have plenty of time to lose that weight. And its completely natural to gain a few lbs or lose them every other day. Best of luck! You have done so great thus far. 20 lbs is something to be very proud of!
