Ideas for ferry over to Martha's Vineyard and a Rehearsal Lunch?

Hi Knotties,

I'm an out-of-town bride having my wedding in Falmouth on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and everyone will be staying in Falmouth Heights. We are looking to perhaps take a ferry on Saturday May 25th over to Martha's Vineyard to have a rehearsal lunch and spend some time on the Island. We will probably have a group of about 50 people.

Does anyone have any suggestions for resturants, what to do at MV for a few hours, how I could pull this off, etc?

Thanks!!!

  • You'll want to take the Island Queen (out of Famouth) to the Vineyard. It's cheap and they have group rates. To get around, rent a trolly. There are tons of great restaurants on MV. We got married (5/12/12) in Edgartown and had our rehersal dinner at the Atlantic Fish and Chop House. They have a private function facility upstairs called The Boathouse and would be great for your group size. There are great views of the harbor and the space is really beautiful. The food was awesome (I highly recommend their clam chowder!) and they were very accomodating for diet restrictions (I had vegitarians and also needed gluten free). And their service was fantastic.

You could also look into a sunset cruise. The Black Dog has cruises, as well as The Harbor View hotel. I am not certain how many people at a time could be accomodated on these cruises. But it's worth looking into.

    Hope this helps!
  • I second the Black Dog,

You'd have to go out of your way to miss it!
