Decoration Help!

So, after much searching and looking, I think I've FINALLY found where I'm getting married! :) The problem is, is I need advice/help with decorations. We're having an April 26th wedding (around 12 noon), and our colors are pink/white/silver. I'm open to any and all suggestions! :) Should I use an aisle runner? Flowers on the chairs? We're having a very small wedding (about 30-50) people. Here's a picture of the venue. :) TIA!

Re: Decoration Help!

  • That is gorgeous!
  • Thank you! It's AMAZINGLY cheap, too! $35 from 11am-3pm! :) I like it cuz it's outside, AND it's covered. The park where it's at is also where my future hubby proposed to me. :)
  • Beautiful venue!  We're having a beachside wedding and am using chair sashes to dress up the chairs with a flower petal aisle runner (though you may want a cloth one).  I love the idea of stuff along the aisle, you could do candles or flowers inside of mason jars down the aisle or something...I'm DIY'ing starfish raffia things to put on our aisle chairs.  :)  Good Luck!

  • I would skip an aisle runner.  They're better for churches and indoors.  You can do shepherd hooks with vases/jars hanging to beautify the aisle, and then move them to your reception site for centerpieces.

Just because you saw it on Four Weddings, doesn't mean it's a good idea.
  • I like the idea of the raffia things! Maybe a wide ribbon with a large silk flower in the middle? And I like the idea for the vases/jars, but I don't want to have to worry about trying to find somebody to transport them and set them up. I thought about candles along the aisle, but with how clumsy I am, I don't want to have to worry about burning the place down, lol. I'll also have a few little ones (under 5) there, and don't want to worry about them knocking them over and broken glass.
  • Don't know if you're planning on having a flower girl, but instead of an aisle runner, lining the aisle completely with pink and white flower petals would be beautiful. And the shepard's hooks would look lovely as well.

We are also doing an outdoor beach wedding.  I'm not big on starfish and every other "beachy" things.  So we are simply tying a single flower (in our case, orchids) to each chair with pretty ribbon.   Just a little something to add to the atmosphere but not to take away for the beautiful outdoors.  Just a thought....

    Good luck and beautiful location......

  • We are hanging mason jars with lemons from the trees along with some that hold candles.  For and aisle marker we are making paper flowers to put along the side.  We are using mason jars on sheperd hooks with candles to mark the path to the reception.
  • I bought mason jars and stock flowers at Walmart the night before the wedding and my BMs arranged them while we got our makeup done. I like the friend idea of rose petals on either side of the asile, but inseatd of petals we're doing leaves and having pumpkins next to each row of chairs.
