What should we expect to pay for a ceremony pianist/organist at church?

Hi ladies,

Have any of you hired a ceremony pianist/organist yet? About how much do you think we should expect to spend?

TIA!

Hi!  We are hiring both an organist and a trumpet player, and each is going to be 250.
  • We hired an organist for $125, but we also have to pay a bench fee (another $125) to the church for not using their music director.  The cost will also depends on how long you plan on having them play before the ceremony while people are being seated and if you're doing a full mass or just the ceremony.
  • We hired Mariachis at $700.  I'm hoping the church let's them perform.  I need to have the discussion with the priest as the office staff do not make decisions.

We are paying $125 for a trumpetist and an organist.
  • That is $125 each
  • We're paying $475 dowtown for a cantor and organist.
  • We're paying 200 for the pianist, 200 for the violinist, and 175 for a singer.  Way too much if you ask me!  It's like 30 minutes MAYBE!
