  We registered for the deBuyer one from W-S...we read the reviews and they seem great. It's the red one, if you look online.

  One thing I want to go with it is a cut-proof glove.  It's hard to use the holder piece of the mandolin for certain foods (like broccoli), and the glove lets you just hold the food without worrying about cutting yourself.  I think they have them at BBB, I'm sure WS would have it, too.

  You should check out the Pampered Chef one.  I know it's not a place you're registred at but it's really a fantastic tool.  It is a bit more expensive but it has a three year warranty & the multiple blades.  I have had other mandolins and they were terrible!  i know other people who swear by this one too.  When I became a consultant this one was part of the kit and it's been awesome to use.

  I totally agree with AMYM312 too!  They're a bit scary to use but when it's got really nice safety features it's not as scary.  Just have to use it and get used to it!

  cooksillustrated.com (you have to be a member to see the info) does product reviews - they highly recommended the OXO one, which is really affordable.
