I still get a few emails from vendors from the Expo Center bridal show last January. My poor MOH got more phone calls, spam email, and junk mail than I ever did, and she's not even getting married!

Ack!  I am going to my first bridal show next weekend at Foxwoods- should I just refuse to give out my info?  Can I refuse??  I am not a fan of spam & junk.

Be clear that you do not want to receive emails or phone calls when you register.  If someone calls, tell them the 1st time, YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED and would like to be removed from their call list. If they email you, UNSUBSCRIBE or email them back and tell them to take you off their distribution list.

Here's a bridal show rant for you--- super pushy vendors that you don't want to speak to.....followed by....unavailable vendors you'd really like to get info from. I went to the one at the expo center and I would ask a relatively simple question and whoever was behind the booth would say, "you know, she just stepped away...I'm not really sure.." Why would you put someone behind the booth who doesn't know the product they are supposed to be selling!!!

Or even better, just get yourself a fake or junk e-mail accoutn and put down a fake phone number. Just because they ask doesn't mean you have to give them every shred of information. Who actually puts down real information unless you actually want them to call you!?

I just went to one at the Expo center and am getting great information from those people I wanted to get it from. You didn't have to sign up for everything and can always say politely "No thank you". While most of them will be pushy because they want your business, if you aren't interested, who cares if you walk away! You won't see them again, and even if you did they will not remember you.

Don't give any info especially your phone # and email address.  If your interested, take their info and contact them privately.
