Candy Bar

I just started to toy with the idea of having a candy bar. My fiancee and I are pretty big candy lovers so I think it's a good reflection of us. Can anyone help me out with more details of how these work since I have never been to a wedding having one. Where would the table with the candy go? Do they just put it out at the end of the wedding? Any ideas, suggestions, experiences would be much appreciated.
