Help pick my wedding date!

Ha! This sounds like a crazy post, but whatever. We've narrowed our perspective date down to Sept 28, 2013 and Oct. 5 2013. We wanted a fall date. We aren't sentimentally attached to either (there's no special meaning behind either date).

As you ladies may know, October in Atlanta can be kind of unpredictable when it comes to weather. It can be absolutely gorgeous, or freakishly cold, or sunny but with a chill in the air. But I'm leaning towards Oct. 5. I dunno, I just like the way it sounds. However, FI is leaning towards Sept 28. He just doesn't want it to be cold.

I've looked at the farmers almanac for weather for the past 10 years for both dates and it's making me lean towards Sept. The weather is more consistent and there's generally less rain. BUT September seems like such a busy month for us. Maybe it's just been the past few years, but it seems like every wedding we've attended, birthday, friends babies being born (and now birthday parties), events, etc has happened in Sept. It's been a jammed packed month for the last several years and I don't really want to add to that.

So, totally unscientific poll based on nothing but personal opinion...What day would you choose?

BTW, our favorite venue is free both dates right now, so that's not a worry.

Re: Help pick my wedding date!

  • If you check out the historical highs and lows, you'll see that it's not cold by the first week of October in Atlanta.

</div><div>That's true. When I checked the almanac, both those days had great high/average temps (high 70's-low 80s). There was just more precipitation on October 5 over the last 10 years. Not serious rain fall, just more drizzly, foggy days. In truth I don't really care if it rains. There are always back-up plans. But I'm leaning towards the more consistent date, which is the sept. date.
