How Long...

Good morning Brides! 9/14 Bride here. RSVP Date is today and we are missing a handful of responses. Was just wondering how long past the response date is appropriate to start inquiring with the slackers? :)

I'm so anxious to get this portion of it done. TIA

Re: How Long...

  • Our RSVP date is a saturday, and I plan to start calling the slackers on monday after the mail arrives (in case there's people who sent them on saturday).
    Anniversary
  • My date was Aug 6 and people are still sending them in daily . As important as this deadline is to us people are busy in there own lives and I think they simply forget lol. I decided I will start harrasing Thurs which is my next "free day" My count is due next Saturday (eeekk) so I gotta get it together lol

  • My date was on a Wednesday, I texted a couple friends on Friday and called the missing family on Monday.
  • Thanks ladies. I will give it until Friday i think. Then start the calls on Saturday. JUST to be courteous.

    Happy planning.
  • Yeah, I'd give it 2-3 days after the mail comes since some people think it needs to be postmarked by that date (I've heard this from a few people who said this is what people did)!  Since I am doing online RSVPs due on September 1 the mail is a moot point but I'll leave people alone on Sunday and Labor Day and start my calls September 4.

  • My RSVP date is Wed and I am going to start calling Monday, giving a couple days for stragglers.
  • My RSVP deadline is this Saturday, but when I chose the date I gave myself two weeks to get ahold of people. I'll wait a week then start trying to contact people. As of now we're still waiting on 59 people... including WP. Ugh
  • 9/14 bride here too. my date was 8/3 and we started contacting on 8/8. FMIL thought this was too early but we had about 30 ppl who were outstanding. believe it or not we are still waiting on about 10 ppl and everything needs to be in on the 31st to the venue, linens/chairs, placecards etc. once i get to the 31st I will be VERY happy :)
  • I'm a 9/15 bride.  My due date is also today for the RSVPs.  I'm giving them a week to get it in and then contacting them.  What surprises me (and irritates me as a bride) is the amount of recently married or engaged couples who haven't replied.  They know how much of a pain this is or will be, so get the RSVP back!  I know they have lives that don't revolve around my wedding, but it surprises me.

Once upon a time, there was a boy who loved a girl, and her laughter was a question he wanted to spend his whole life answering.
  • I started calling right away - I think even the due date.  I was really friendly, like, "Oh, just wanted to make sure you got your invitation.  I know it's the due date today, so no worries if you mailed it, but I just wanted to make sure if you hadn't gotten it that you have enough notice to make plans if you can make it!   Oh, you got it?  Oh, you can't make it?  Well, we'll definitely miss you, thanks so much for letting me know!!!"

We've had a few swear their responses are in the mail, and we only just got them (or haven't yet), two weeks after our RSVP due date.

  • 9/15 Bride ... our due date isn't until 8/25 and I'm going crazy!! I know they still have a week and a half, but we've only gotten about half the responses back! That's 178 "I don't know's" AHHHHH! Our reception venue said they didn't need a final count until the week of ... but still, we invited waaay too many people and getting those "NOs" will give me peace of mind.
