Happy Monday Morning!

Good morning!

I've been MIA for a little while--life's been crazy! Last week was the absolutely worst work week of my life. I don't even want to add up all the hours but I worked 12-13 hour days a few times last week. It was so stressful and unnecessarily so. Ugh. Anyway. It's over :)

We close on our house in four days! I'm so excited and a little scared. Not sure why I'm scared, but I am freaking out a little bit. I think I'm freaking out mostly because it doesn't feel like we are going to be ready. The owners still haven't finished moving out, the loan isn't ready, and I'm just so afraid that we won't close on Friday. But we have to! Keys for the apartment need to be handed in on Wednesday of next week.

Yikes! Anyway, it's pretty obvious I'm freaking out. Sorry this was a jumbled mess. Miss you all and I hope you had a nice weekend :)

Hey chica!  We've totally missed you over here.  Work sounds INTENSE!  Hopefully this week calms down a lot more.

I don't want to scare you, but be prepared these last few days before close can get nutty.  For some insane reason, as they go through final approval with the underwriters, they often find things they want documented & never asked before, so you may have some last minute LOEs and other scrambles.  Also be sure the bank has already asked the IRS for your tax transcripts if they feel your submitted copy isn't enough.  That can take a few days too.

Do you know if your loan has been submitted to final undwriter approval yet?

I'm dead tired today.  My flight home last night got delayed 3 hours.  The original incoming plane was struck by lightning on an earlier leg, so we had to wait for a plane swap.  Got home at 2, up at 6:30 - I feel like the walking dead.  BLEH.

I've been emailing with the underwriter all weekend. It's been so annoying. Apparently the print outs that Steve's bank provides aren't good enough because they don't have the full account number on them. She was also confused about his deposits and transfers from checking to savings. I haven't heard back since middle of yesterday so I'm hoping I answered her questions sufficiently. I'm so sick of the loan crap and needing to provide explanations for EVERYTHING.

We went through the same process, the bank statements needed to be complete as if if there are 3 pages all three pages need to be submitted even though the last page is a blank page.  Also between FI and I we have like 7 bank accounts.  That was a paper nightmare.  But don't fret, the last few days before closing are going to be a bit nutty like Tanq said.  But in all things will work out.  Honestly I didn't think that the people living there were going to be out in  time as well.  When we did the final walk through four days before closing nothing had been moved out.  But on the day of closing we got our keys and went over there.  It was dirty but empty and ready for us to get in there.

Rally the friends and start packing because its going to be a crazy ride!  Good luck on your closing.

Aw, Breaness, I hope it's all smooth sailing from here out!

Tanq - I hope you get some much needed rest! =P

This is going to be a super weird week for me - I'm having allergy tests done today through Friday. It's a patch test for contact dermatitus allergies, which means I currently have 5 patches of chemicals and allergens taped across my back.... and I'm not allowed showering until Friday after my last visit!

Thank god I'm on summer vacation... 'cause I'd hate to show up to school stinking! I think I'm finally going to get the wife chop (hair cut) on Wednesday. I *think* I want to go short again, but I'm hesitant because it took me 4 years to grow my hair out to its current length... but, I'm done with that wedding I was in and I promised myself I would get it done as soon as the wedding was over.

Alyson - sounds like a crazy week!  I am not sure what's worse -- having allergens taped to you for 5 days or not showering for 5 days.  Both sound positively miserable.  Thinking lots of good thoughts for you.  Just imagine how good things will feel on Friday!

Also, I'm with you - the chop debate.  You can always go medium length & rechop if you want it even shorter.  I figure at this point, I need 6-8 inches taken off at minimum for healthier hair, so I can start there and work my way on up as needed.

Morning for you all you west coasters and afternoon for all us east coasters!

My goodness home buying in the states seems much more completed than in Canada. Here, basically you go to a bank or mortgage broker to get pre-approved...have your realtor tell you were to sign once you make an offer if you are buying an older house...a new house you sign all the paperwork with the builder...forward your purchase agreement to the bank and your lawyer and viola you get the keys from your lawyer on your closing date...eazy peazy.

Wedding is in less than a month...still a lot to do...not only wedding related but i really really want to come home to a clean house.  So the next month will be non stop...thank goodness we'll have a long weekend before we leave...desperately will need that extra day.

If you don't see me again this week wishing you all an awesome week and all the best on your closing Brea!!! J. :-)

    Thanks Julienne!

I can't believe you're so close-- I've always thought of you as the last Maui bride before me (I'm sure more have popped up between now and then but when I joined this board that was the case!) so that's just making it feel even more real for me :)

Congratulations Brea and glad things are getting better. Good luck with the last few days. It was pretty stressful the last few days before our home closing last year. I know I was at the point of tears for a day at the end because I needed some documents from work that I wasn't sure they were going to be able to sign. I say this not to try scare you but just so you're prepared emotionally. Also we want to see pictures of the new place! Lots of exciting changes for you!

    Yay for some rest Tanq.

Good luck on your allergy tests and I hope to see pictures of the new hair :)

Maui and Brea - I have 26 more days and 21 days til we leave - the countdown is giving me nervous butterflies! Not sure what this is about I feel like we have most of the big stuff cleared away but we just want to make sure things don't fall through the cracks and everything runs smooth.

That's so exciting, Christine! I can't believe how close you are! I haven't looked at our days counter, so I'm a little nervous to...

Okay, I looked, 49 days to go-- that feels a little more manageable :) Hopefully we're mostly settled into the house by then!

    Brea and Christine,

Brea i know how you feel as Christine is right before me...actually we leave for Hawaii the same day she is getting married. So as i read her posts it makes it more real for me especially seeing the date in the bottom of her siggy.

Christine, i am right with you...the nervous and anticipation of it all and hoping everything goes according to or as to close the plan as possible.  For me weather is my biggest worry...it really shouldn't be as there this nothing that can be done about it but i guess that's why it is such a concern...lol. Plus vendors cancelling last minute due to illness or something. So i just need to repeat over and over again that everything will be fine and if not the most important thing is that i will be standing face to face with the man i truly love and expressing our love and happiness while committing oursleves to each other. HTH! J. :-)
