I have been to both places! And I got my dress at Camillela Vie!  (well, through their 1-800#)

Both places have lots of dresses!

I will write more later. Have fun shopping for your gown!

Told you I'd get back to you. sorry so late!

Anyway - both places are great for finding dresses at a great rate!

And, you will actually be able to try on dresses that fit you! (They should have most dresses in your size, or at least a size that's close)

Also, you will be able to see every dress in their catalog or on the website at the store locations. (every dress should be in the store so you can see it, even if they don't have that particular dress in your size)

You will get to see white and ivory dresses by that manufacturer in the fabrics they create. ie - you can see white and ivory satin, taffeta, chiffon. Not every dress in every color. Usually you see the dress that's in the catalog, but if you want a white satin dressthat's ivory in the catalog, you will still be able to see that manuafactorer's version of white satin in some other dress.

    Helpful Hints -

Tell them your size when they ask. (They will usually ask for your normal size and your bra size. Every woman knows what their size is. Tell them that. If you wear a 12 or a 14 depending on the store. Tell them that. Do do the "oh, I don't know. I wear so many different sizes" Seriously, it will make your consultants job that much harder. Just because you own one t-shirt that is a small that fits you, does not mean you are a small if everything else you own is a size 16. They don't care that you own one tiny t-shirt. If you usually wear a 6, 12, 16, 24 (whatever) tell them that! It will make your shopping experience less stressful!)

Wear light-colored underwear. Especially a bra and panty set that you don't mind being seen in. White, light pink, light blue - completely fine. Save the black, red and leopard for your FI!) Most places will give you a strapless bra and full slip to wear. Ask also for a slim-line slip if they don't offer it. That way you can be in something when the door opens if you are wearing slim-line dresses. Full-back undies can also work, but sometimes show lines. Boy shorts or thongs with pantyhose helps with the no-lines issue.

Shave your underarms and your legs!

Shoes- When they ask you to pick out a pair of heels, pick out a pair that you like and feel you can wear for the whole day of your wedding. If you already have your shoes, bring them with you. Ballgowns are very heavy and just cause you can balance yourself in your flat feet or flat shoes doesn't help if you plan to wear 4" heels on your wedding day!

Bring people- but NOT a whole army. If your wedding party is 3 feel free to bring them all, but if you have 15 bridesmaids, do not bring them all when you are just starting to look. You will get more done with the fewer peole you have.

You may actually get the most done if you are by yourself or one other person.

Look at the companies own website and/ or catalog and select dresses that they make that you like. It will save a ton of time if you can have pictures to your consultant of the exact dress that you want to try on.

That said, if there is adress (or two dresses) taht are made by top designer that doesn't fit your budget, bring a picture if that dress or two. (But that means 2, not 12)

Wearcoverup, mascara and clear lip gloss. Do not wear a ton of make up!

Remember that bridal gown sizes are usually going to be 2 sizes bigger in number than your normal dress size. Don't freak out about that! It's completely normal! (My dress from Camille la Vie was a size 14 and I was thrilled because my normal size is usually a 12 to 14. so it was great knowing that my gown was basically my normal dress size. But the dress I liked at DB ran smaller than normal, so I would have needed a 16 or even an 18 if I had gone with the dress I like there.)

Take your time. Don't rush! Since you plan on visiting both stores, best thing to do is look at both websites before you go to your first store so you have an idea what both have to offer. Then, go to store #1. Try on what you like and maybe even if your consultant suggests something be open to trying it on. Your plan is to leave with knowing you have three, or 5 or 7 or 10 (whatever) that you like! But if you went in liking 10 pictures and after trying them on can narrow down to 5, you have made progress! Then you can go to store #2, and do the same thing. THE dress is a big decision. Maybe your next visit you can decide on your dress. Do not feel pressured to buy the first dress that you try on or see. (Or even like)

When trying on dresses, imagine walking, dancing and sitting down in the dresses you like. Better yet, move around and do those things!

I'll be back. But hope this is enough to get you started!
