Cake Check

I went with FMIL to design and order our Cake. Done and Done!!! They didn't have any samples for us to try which I was mad about. But we decided to do Marble and Fudge, Marble and rasberry and Strawberry and Fudge. So excited! Got a 3 Tier Cake (Only Top tier Real) and 3 Sheet Cakes for $400.

What are you ladies using to display the Cake?... The Bakery has a Cool stand that is 18in around but its $25 to rent. Is this standard?

Sounds like yummy cake! We just displayed our cake with these round foils things, which were free from the bakery, most bakeries make you rent something to display cakes on, I was glad our  bakery had a free option though!

$18 is actually on the cheaper side of standard for cake stands.  Some throw it in for free, but most charge around $25 or so.

We're going to have a foil base decorated with some mosaic pieces, but we're going to have to buy or rent our own stand from another vendor, since our cake is going to be square, which is less common, so our baker doesn't have one we care to rent.

I was thinking of using small glass vases (either square or round- same one as my small centerpiece in my DIY part of my BIO) to hold it up and put lights or gems in it to add a little something. But I don't think I can do that for under $25.
They charge a $100 security Deposit which we get back. But I thought that was high for a stand. But I guess they don't want to tempt anyone.
