Flowers - Albany/Saratoga area

I am having my wedding reception at Saratoga National Golf Club in Saratoga Springs.  I am starting to look around for florists to do flowers.  I really only want to spend around $2000 on flowers.  My wedding will probably only have 100 guests with 10-12 tables, and I have 6 bridesmaids.  I need someone who will work with me and my budget, but will still do a great job.  Any suggestions?

try Jolene K, I hear she is very reasonable! She is out of Altamont, so I am not sure what the delivery charge would be! Def worth checking out!  Also Price Chopper in Clifton Park is also supposed to be FABULOUS! Good luck!

I am using Margette at the Clifton Park price chopper.  I've heard AMAZING things about her work and she can work within any budget.  I've seen some awesome platinum weddings she has done.  Mine on the other hand I got 7 bm bouquets, 6 gm boutonniere's, my bouquet which is full of orchids, my grooms orchid boutonniere, 20 centerpieces, rose petals, 5 orchid corsages and 5 rose boutonniere's for dads and grandpas all for $1070.  I was amazed!  Definitely try her, however she books almost a year in advance so I would book her asap.

i met with Margette today from PC in Clifton Park.  My estimate was a bit higher than I expected, close to $3,000.00 but that is a very good price for what I want for my flowers.

OK, so i went to Felthousen's in Schenectady yesterday for another flower appointment.  This place blew Price Chopper away.  the flowers we saw that were getting ready to go to weddings were AMAZING.  the owner was so helpful with ideas.  and, what was most surprising, their quote for our flowers was $500 less than PC!!!!   and we dont have to think about cutting out expensive flowers, such as stephanotis, as we would with PC.  also, PC in Clifton Park had the highest delivery charge of $150, and they were the closest flower venue to our ceremony and reception sites (makes no sense).  Flethousen's delivery charge was only $100 and they are at least 30 minutes further than PC.  based on my appointments as of now, I would recommend Felthousen's hand down!!!

Felthousen's did our flowers for our wedding last year.  They did an absolutely fantastic job and put up with all my last minute crazy out of town brideness.  In addtion Mark was the only florist I found that bought into my vision and made it a reality!  I really need to get my married bio up so you can see what they looked like.  I highly recommend them!

Thanks Annabear!  I really like Mark.  He is already making a sample centerpiece for us and we just met with him Saturday.  Very accommodating!   No other flower venders even offered that to us.  Plus the work we saw that was ready to go out was amazing!   As long as we like the sample centerpiece we see tonight, we are definitely going with them!

I had read forever ago to go to the Clifton Park PC but of course I procrastinated and they were booked.  I ended up booking the Glens Falls PC which was pretty good.  I think they screwed up one of my BM bouquets but maybe I just looked at the picture wrong because it was SO much smaller than what I had imagined but luckily I also ordered a throwaway bouquet of the same type of flowers so my sister just held both of them.  And our boutinerres had all died by the end of the night (is that normal?).  Otherwise our flowers were great and I was pretty satisfied.

We paid $1600 for thirteen small rose and hydragea centerpieces, two larger centerpieces, two church displays (told them to make whatever was available that day but was so happy with how they came out), four church pews, ten or so boutenierres, three BM bouquets, my bouquet, a toss bouquet, a nose gay for my mom and three corsages.

I find dying flowers to be unacceptable.  For the price you pay for wedding flowers, they should still look good the next day!   As I said previously, I was not impressed with PC at all.  Their prices were higher than other reputable florists in the area, and I felt very rushed during my consultation.

I recommend Ambiance Florals on Everett Rd (518.446.9900) to clients.
If you ask for Michele & communicate your budget, she will offer you an on-the-spot quote (usually) that is within your budget.  Good luck!
