DJ Vent...

Why are DJs so freakin expensive??...Out of the 6 hours for the ceremony/reception, he'll only play a total of 3 hours....This has me on the verge of buying an Ipod and a docking station and making my own playlist...Yell

  • What are you looking to spend?
I used Adam from Jamology (just google Jamology + MD) and he was great and more budget friendly than a lot of other DJs around here. Shrewsical is another company that's cheaper than a lot of the others. Good luck!

I’m using  DC BECKSTER DJ Services . Dana has been great! after dealing with so many DJ's that just weren't the right fit and were insanely expensive Dana was a breath of fresh air.

    Highly recommended!

  • Go with a DJ.
    Do not do the ipod.

I'm using World Renown Entertainment. I saw them at a friend's wedding.

Go to adja.org they have a bunch of DJ's, reach out to them, you never know.

    Good Luck
  • My fiancé is a wedding DJ and can't believe what wedding vendors are charging us becaus his rates are so fair. He is amazing, but I admit I am biased. www.bradmcdj.com

  • I think it is unfair to compare a good DJ with buying your own iPOD and playing your own music.  Still, for some brides, that may work – I have seen it done successfully and unsuccessfully.  An experienced DJ can make or break the party.  They also need to carry liability insurance (costs about $800 per year).  They need to pay royalties for the music they play and have to spend considerable time and expense keeping up on equipment and of course, music. That must surely be worth paying for.

Good luck!  P.S.  I am a successful full-time videographer in the DC area and after hundreds of events; I feel I am qualified to offer this advice.  Regards, Cliff Matheson
