Are there any African American brides on this site?

I need help finding a venue that will be comfortable for my family. It will be a small wedding, but I still want it to be beautiful and memorable. Any suggestions. A lot of the places are nice but they seem too expensive and not color friendly.

    I am also having a hard time finding a venue that is reasonable.  I am looking for a venue that will hold 150 people and where I can keep the budget about 7k.

    I was also having a hard time finding a venue when I first started looking. I really couldn't find anything because every place seemed a little expensive. So I decided to go over Jersey. Im not sure what part of philadelphia you live in but there is a banquet hall by the name of Temptations Banquet Hall on Chelten ave. Hopefully this help and yes there are some African Americans on this site. Maybe not many but a few.

    I checked temptations already and that area is not pretty and the rooms for the reception are too large for my party but thanks anyway. I am inquiring at the gathering place and have sent a message to them. Thanks for the suggestions ladies.

    Im having it the Castle Caterers in Delran NJ. Its like 45 min away and the place it beautiful. There is also a water front in the back where people keep their yachts. It all in one so you can have your wedding and reception all in one place. But the place is getting renovated and they are making better changes.

    Castle Caterers looks wonderful, which means out of my price range. Thanks anyway tho and congrats.. 3 days early!!!

    Checking in the city is always going to be more expensive. When you step outside the prices are much more resonable. This was a problem that I was having. If you are willing to travel there is a nice hall around the Coateville area that is callled the Wagontown Fire Hall. For a Sat nite for 200 pp. the hall costs $850. And it is always easy to find an affordable caterer. Also there is also the Delware Center of Comtemporary Art in Wilimington that has 2 rooms. One is $2100 but the other is only $450 but you do have to rent tables and chairs. But if you find the right vendor u can get those for dirt cheap and decorations would be minimal bc you are in a museum. Hope this helps.

    I know I am a little late for this but I was also going to go with Temptations in Philly but they have moved off of Chelten Avenue and is now called The Black Pearl on Germantown Ave in Mt. Airy.  The new restaurant is very nice, but where the new banquet hall will be is in the HOOD. 

    I am having both my wedding and reception at Celebrations in Bensalem, PA.  I also have a small wedding (100) but they were VERY accomodating.  Talk to Frank or Mary Elise there.  You will spend more than your $7000 unless you cut your guest list down BUT...all you have to do with them in hire a dj, photographer and videographer (if you wish)...and then all you have to do is just show up!!  THey handle EVERYTHING else!

    A coworker of mine had his wedding at Celebrations and loved ot. I actually work across the street from Temptations on Chelten. The place is ok. The neighborhood....not so much. there is a place called The Regal Ballroom that is actually pretty decent and they offer packages as low as $56pp and that includes gratuity and tax. Its on Oxford ave. Also in Bensalem there is a place called La luna that I think is $65pp. Both include your linens/cake/flowers/and alcohol.
