  None of those places. (and I have rarely been to one at any of those placese)
  Mine will be at my sister's home. (It's a big house)
  
  Most I have been to are at a home. We like to talk and eat and socialize without time limits and prefer homemade food so it just works for my family.
  
  EDIT Yes, i have been to a barbeque shower. It was great.

  I am having mine next month but it will be at a church hall. A lot of one's I've thrown has been a people's houses though.

  I had mine in the backyard.  It couldn't have been better.  My mom and sister decorated, cooked, etc.  It was amazing!

  One of mine will be at my brother and SIL house and the other one will be at my FI's parent's house. They are both nice size houses. His Mom is thowing ours while we are in PA for Thanksgiving since my FI and I live in KY.
