Bridesmaids gifts....

are so hard to decide on! I am really leaning towards make up bags like this: MAKEUP BAG but I'm still not sure.  I have been  in weddings before and my bridesmaid gift is collecting dust. I really want to make sure my girls will enjoy the gift but I still have tight budget. Any other ideas?

I'm planning to do lip gloss, a bottle of body spray or lotion, and comfy but cute house slippers...  I haven't found exactly what I'm looking for yet, so I'm not sure.

I got my girls different colored fresh water pearl earrings and a pashmina. They aren't for wearing at the wedding (although they're allowed to if they wanted, I don't care). I just got them something I know they will all wear since they all love earrings. What about a gift certificate to a spa? Or pashmina scarves? A Makeup bag is cute, but what about like a "beauty basket" with like not just makeup but other things like body sprays or luxury soaps? Just a thought :)

wrapwithus.com has cute candles that are uber cheap, and you can get one that represents each girl.  For example, one I got flip flops, the other a coffee mug.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm too picky for my own good. I don't want to do anything with scent because I don't want to risk someone not liking what they got. Plus I can't do earrings because only one of  my girls has pierced. My budget for all 4 girls is about $100. If I do this I plan on getting another little thing to go inside. Again not sure

Check overstock.com for necklaces or something. I got my girls (all 6 of them...yikes!) necklaces on there for under $20 a piece. I really like them too, I wish I had ordered one for myself! I am also planning on taking advantage of either Victoria's Secret or Bath and Body Works where they have there deals like 5 for $30 or something and getting them each 2 or 3 lotions and sprays. Again you deal with issue of scents there, but maybe you know some they use since both are popular brands?

Do you have a coach outlet near you?

I just ask because I picked up little coach makeup bags for some of my girls for like $40.  Its something I know they will use, something they wouldn't splurge on themselves. and you can easily stuff a few things inside it.

Think about getting them each something different.  They are not the same person, they all have different tastes so why not?  I found it much easier to get them gifts that way.

Check out jewelry stores going out of business (there are many).  My mom was watching the Jewelry Channel one day as it was going out of business, and we got our BMs really nice, authentic pearl necklaces for $35 each.  I kid you not!  It looks like we spent $200 or something on each one.

I gave my girls embroidered beach towels from LL Bean. I also gave them the name hangers and summery stuff.

We gave the girls (and moms) necklaces. They all loved them so much they wore them on the day of the wedding, even though they didn't have to.

if you still want to do the bag idea, and don't mind DIYing them, i picked up some canvas totes at the craft store and bought iron on letters for each of my BMs initials, and then some sew on applique type things to spice them up a bit and they turned out really cute :)
i'd post a pic for you but i haven't uploaded them off my camera yet :\
but the bags were each $5 and the rest wasn't too expensive since the letters were in an alphabet pack.

I found tote bags on Amazon that match the wedding colors for really cheap! I figured they can stuff their clothes, makeup, hair products, flip flops for later, etc. in there the day of the wedding. I also bought them wristlets that match the wedding colors too that they can use at the reception that night. I am going to put lip gloss, gum, tissues, etc. in the wristlet too.

Now, my question- what do you buy for a junior BM who is 8? I got her the orange tote bag too, but a wristlet is too old for her. Any other ideas?

I'm getting each of my girls something totally different.  My MOH is an aspiring writer, so I'm going to get her a really nice journal.  Another BM is a painter, so I might get her some brushes or something.  Another BM is a photographer, so she gets frames or an album, etc.  And so on for all my BMs (there are 6 of them and a Junior BM).

My best advice is to shop like it's their birthday.  You don't have to get everyone the same thing!  I picked things that I knew my BMs would like, that had nothing to do with anyone else.  For my MOH, I got VS silk jammies, for one BM sheet music and a gc to get more (she plays piano), another BM got a cow statue (something she liked at the time, don't ask!) and my final BM got a bunch of stuff related to college and her school.

I would avoid jewelry unless you 100% know their taste - and I can almost guarantee they won't all like the same things.  my friend swore I would love the necklace she was buying all of us.  I've worn it once - her wedding day.

I made all my girls initial wine glasses since we went to a local winery for a wine tasting for our bridesmaid get together. I ordered the initials and dots from Etsy and stuck them on wine glasses I purchased at Target.

I also gave them all a pearl necklace and earring set from an Etsy seller, rhinestone tank tops that MOH and I made with the iron ons that say Bridesmaid, Jr. BM, MOH, and FG.

I also took them all for mani-pedis the day before the wedding and sent them all a framed photo of all us at the wedding that said "The Girls".

For my MOH, I made a scrapbook of us over the years as her extra gift.

All info on etsy sellers in my planning bio.
