Locations, locations... locations?

Hi all,

Looking for a little direction here.  My soon to be fiancee and I are doing some research on wedding locations in the Raleigh / North Raleigh / Wake Forest area.  We have a few reception sites in mind, but the ceremony itself has been a bit of a pain to research.

Just to give you some background, we were both raised Roman Catholic, but have not been avid church goers for 2 years.  The church made some decisions and statements we did not agree with at all.  We would get married in a church but honestly outsie of the Catholic churches nothing really screams perfect.  See the issue?

Would love to do an outdoor wedding but not at a public park and we don't have a huge budget for this either.  I mean granted our budget is nice, but we feel it would be better spent on the food and reception itself as we are a fun loving couple.

Any suggestions?  Links appreciated.

I live in Raleigh and got married at Delightful Inspirations (on the corner of Avent Ferry and Tryon) www.delightfulinspirations.com We got married in their beautiful garden under the gazebo, and then had the reception in the huge ballroom.  I could not say enough wonderful things about this place.

I would also check out The Sutherland (www.thesutherland.com) located in Wake Forest- seen a beautiful wedding done there.

Highgrove Estate is also very popular www.highgrove-nc.com/   It has a beautiful ceremony site that overlooks Laurel Lake.

Haywood Hall is very nice as well. www.haywoodhall.org

    Hope that helps :-)

Thank you much clschnack.  Our new debate is hotel locations as all but a handful of guests are from out of town.

But some of those do look great and seem to be close enough.  Yeah people could drive to a hotel, but not this family.  And we can't afford to spend a fortune on shuttle services.

Will pass some of those on to the soon to be fiancee and see what she thinks.  Thank you. :)

If you are looking into getting married at a hotel, check out the Renaissance at North Hills.  Not only is it new, but its gorgeous and right in North Raleigh.

The Hall and Gardens at Landmark is also a beautiful choice. Their packages include the garden for the ceremony and the ballroom for the reception.  www.the<strong" rel="nofollow">www.the>>hallatlandmark.com/

Downtown Wake Forest has The Cotton Company Event Gallery and Tuxedo Junction.

You can try Cafe Lunna but they have a minimum amount of money you have to spend.  You can also try the St. Mark's Chapel in downtown Raleigh but it only hold 50 people.  You can also try googling some B&B's around the triangle but I know they can be a little bit pricey.  Also try the Brier Creek Country Club, or the North Hills Club.

The Stone Chapel in Wake Forst http://www.stonechapel.com may fit the bill.  It was originally a Catholic church but now welcomes couples of all denominations.
