Attendants ....

I wanted a friend of mine to be my Matron but because she lost her job May 1, she didn't want to be in the wedding but she still wants to be invited...which I unerdtand (she has lots going on being the sole money maker in her home).  Now I have my FI's niece who said she wasn't comfortable being in the wedding (she's 13 and really shy).  I said ok no problem.

Why is it that it's bad etiquette to remove someone from your bridal party but it's not bad etiquette if one decides to back out?!? LOL  I'm just sayin.....

Tomorrow the Bridesmaids are meeting me at the Bridal shop to look at dresses!  Excited!!

Re: Attendants ....

  • Your situation's completely different than say, 'booting' these girls out because they didn't agree with a dress or something like that. Life happens no matter what. It's bad form to kick someone out of a WP (which is never okay to do unless they sleep with your FI or threaten to kill you) whereas your MOH and Jr BM made the decision on their own to not participate. KWIM?

  • It stinks when people drop out of the WP, but you have to respect the fact that a) they were honest with you, and b) that they told you now instead of 5-6 months down the road...but I definitely know how that feels. My cousin can't make it to my wedding because of financial reasons. Sucks, but oh well.
