Sorry, day early AW.......obviously not wedding related-with pics

Some of you newbies may not know I've sewn for years, and made my ceremony dress in the siggy picture below.

OK, my “baby” is a senior, and all her life I’ve promised her I’d make her prom dress. Her prom is the end of May.

The dress has 6 layers of tulle, aka veil fabric, and I will say that I will NEVER work with it again. It is the biggest pain to sew, attach, and cut evenly. It’s hard to see all the details clearly in the pictures, but the bodice is a pale dusty rose taffeta, the top tulle layer is darker rose with sparkles (shows a bit on the pictures). The sequin appliqués were hand cut from sequined fabric and hand sewn. There is a strip of appliqués that goes over the shoulder and attaches on the front and back. The appliqués on the front are continued into the skirt tulle.

I have a lot of the taffeta left and will be fashioning some sort of wrap/shawl for her to go with it.

It was a collaborative effort of the two of us. We used two different patterns, and the "plan" changed at least 4 times as to how we were going to design it. But in the end, she is thrilled with it, and I couldn't be a happier Mom.
