Jewelry quandary (PIP)

There are two different sets I really like for wedding jewelry. We're doing a bit of a vintage/art nouveau feel.

The first set is a tiara I absolutely love but is more than I wanted to spend. However, the full set is about the same price as the other one I am looking at. The downside is that I would be spending more on something I wouldn't ever wear again.
MoH thinks this set is too "matchy" but I could theoretically buy just the tiara and get plain pearl jewelry to go with it. I had initially wanted to stay away from pearls because they're so typical bridal.

This set is by an artist I like and whose jewelry I already own a lot of, including that bracelet. The upside is that is is all stuff I would wear again. I am not set on those flowers for my hair but it would be somethign fairly simple.

FYI - my dress and prososed hairstyle is below

  • oh wow no wonder you love that set - it's gorgeous! Yes, it matches but it's not "too matchy" seeing as it's very basic in colour. The tiara is to die for!!
I'm prob not helping your $$ issue eh? lol

  • I am NOT a tiara girl, but I LOVE that set, so unique, and while you may not wear it again, I think its somethign you could display near your wedding pictures or soemthing, and it screams heirloom piece to me :) I say go for it!

  • I will start with saying I am not a tiara girl and I'm not a fan of necklaces worn with halter style dresses.  I feel like the halter part is enough and a necklace might crowd or take away from the look you're trying to create.  I do love the necklaces though and you could probably wear them another time.

The tiara and earrings are pretty.  However, If the entire set was purchased, I could see myself wearing the earrings and necklace again.  Just not the tiara, unless it was my birthday Embarassed

I also love the look of the 2nd option without the necklace for wedding purposes.  I would wear it another time.

  • Yeah, that is one of my concerns. The tiara is the most expensive part of that set and the only piece I wouldn't wear a again. I actually have a sparkly tiara that FH won (long story!) and I am totally wearing that for the after party.

  • If you are concerned about the price of the tiara, and don't think you're going to wear it again, put that money towards something else that means more to you :) That's what I would do lol
  • I really like the first set together. Could you just buy the earrings & necklace and then find something else for your hair? Or is the whole reason you're looking at that set because of the tiara?
