Re: peonies in september

  • If you are really set on it, why don't you look into the option of just using it as an accent flower and not using it in all your centerpieces and stuff?

I have always been slightly upset with lady slipper orchids, but they are somewhere around $25 a piece. So, I am just using a few in my bouquet and one as my FI's boutonniere. Seems crazy, but in the grand scheme of things it will make me happy and will only end up being about $100.

  • I agree, if its something your heart is set on, you can work around having them but not breaking the bank to do so. Using just a few as accents is a great way of doing that!
  • I had my heart set on peonies as well.  The cost to get them was too much so I went with cabbage/garden roses, some will call them David Austin roses.  They look almost identical.
  • I was told by my florist that even if they were to order them... at that time of year... they will be brown by the time the ceremony is over.  They dont last.

Same here. I think the cabbage roses are a great alternative.
