Houston or League City area Receptions venues

Hey ladies!  I was wondering if any of you had any suggestions on good, but decent priced venues either in downtown Houston or the League City area (Pearland, Friendswood, etc)?

We looked at the Downtown Hilton and their Skyline room is very nice, but it's kind of pricey for the limited number of guests you can seat.  I've contacted the lady at the Petroleum Club regarding their Wildcatter Grill room, and it's got a lower minimum price, but I think the food & beverage costs will still add up to just as much as the others.

I found the Majestic Metro online which looks like it might be nice - has anyone checked them out yet?

Any information you could provide would be VERY helpful!  Thanks bunches!

My friend had her reception at Bay Oaks Country Club and it was really nice, also check out Butler's Courtyard and Centurian Palace for the League City area

Judging by the venues you've listed, you probably arent looking for a garden & ballroom venue... but I got married at Centurion Palace in League City. Unless you're just looking for the venue for reception only and then you'd just use the ballroom... it's quite nice and decently priced.

Hey, Nikki!  I just e-mailed you the price sheet for Centurion Palace.  Unfortunately, they had my date booked but they look like a great deal.

Not sure if U of H area is too far from downtown but they only have a 6500 f&b minimum for 150 people.  Their catering menu is online: http://universityofhouston.hiltonemenus.com/home.asp

Also, the Crowne Plaza hotel near Reliant Center seems fairly inexpensive.  Haven't gotten their exact price list yet but they do have some posted on their website:http://www.cphoustonhotel.com/groups-meetings.php. If you look at their FB photo album some of the weddings they've held there are incredible.  Darryl & Co's facebook group has some wonderful pictures from there as well.

Houston City Club (again, not quite downtown -- 59 and Buffalo Speedway), Downtown Club at the Houston Center, and Downtown Club at the Plaza are great too.  Houston City Club and Downtown Club at the Houston Center had a 8k minimum but you are the only event that day and you get all the rooms in the facility.  They both fit 150 but I would say no more than 120-130 comfortably with a dance floor.  Downtown Club at the Plaza has a 10k minimum and one large rectangular room with another medium sized room off to the side.  Jason Bailey is AMAZING and so are the other people that work there.  Also, it's on the 48th floor of the Shell Plaza so very frou-frou if that's what you like.

    HTH!

Depending on the number of people you are having, Butler's Courtyard is really really nice. I think 200 is the max you can have there though.

If you just want a reception hall, have you looked into Cullen's American Grille? they have really nice rooms there.

Also, the Clear Lake Hilton has been remodeled and it looks AMAZING. It is so nice now. They accomdate up to like 400 or something like that,

Not sure how many guests you need seating for but there's also Kemah Gardens and Admiral on Clear Lake

My coworker got married at the White House in Friendswood.  I'm not sure that's the name.  Its something like that.  Not sure on the cost but she LOVED it!
Butler's Courtyard looks very nice too.

Wow, thanks for all of the great suggestions!

We're really not too picky on the type of venue, be it a garden, ballroom, etc.  We really just need something that will fit anywhere from 150-200 people and still be reasonably priced.

I've jotted down all of your ideas and will look into them.  I really appreciate all of the feedback! Laughing

My future cousin in-law is an event planner (iCatching Events) at the Admiral and she makes that place look phenomenal! You can do some fabulous decorating at a reasonable price there.
