Riveria Maya

Hi I am thinking about going to riveria maya for our honeymoon
Any recommendations

Re: Riveria Maya

  • time of year? budget? for how long?

  • In mid may, budget is around $2,000, and probably for 5 days.
  • Secrets Maroma Beach is my top choice, but may be out of your budget. I would look at Secrets Capri
  • Secrets Silversands is a great destination. We went there for our honeymoon. It's closer to Cancun than Riviera Maya, but it is by far our favorite all inclusive resort. We loved the fact that it was adults only for our honeymoon so we didn't have to deal with any screaming kdis. I'd also recommend Now Jade Riviera Cancun, if you go here, spend the extra money to be part of the preferred club, you'll be part of the adults ony section, get better service and more dining options. You'll also have immediate access to the adults only section, which is a plus! We have also gone to Gran Bahia Principe Tulum, not as extravagant as the previous two resorts, but it's a pretty good bang for your buck!
We used bookit.com to book all of our trips which made everything much less of a hassle! Hope this helps!
  • well i did a quick kayak search for flights for may 12-18 and the non-stops are running about 650 a person. so at 1300 for flights that leaves only 700 for the hotel-so that's only 140 a night. its going to be tough to fit that into the budget at an AI. you can checl allinclusiveoutlet.com for package deals or talk to a TA but it's going to be tight. good luck :)

  • I checked on AllInclusiveOutlet.com for 5 nights leaving on the 20th of May and there were a few around your price range. They were slightly above the 2k mark though. You might want to keep an eye on the prices and see if you can talk to a local travel agent and maybe you can get a good deal.

Also some times Travel Zoo has some great deals. Not sure of how major of an airport Philadelphia has but I am sure it is better then Omaha. :-) So you could always try to find a cheap place to fly out of.

  • Valentin Imperial Maya is a low budget but very good resort in the Riviera Maya area. I really enjoyed our stay there.
  • We just got back a few days ago from Azul Fives in Riviera Maya. It is an all inclusive and one of the smaller resorts. They just renovated and had a great special which would bring it into your budget. Here is the website and the rate list is included but is a little confusing. The current special is 40% off. They had a ton of activities all day and several restaurants to pick from. http://karismahotels.com/HotelsResorts/ForEveryone/AzulFivesHotel How about a travel agent? for our wedding, we used Carmen at All About Honeymoons who was amazing and serves NJ and eastern PA. Here's her website: https://www.facebook.com/honeymoonagent Good luck!
