Invitations - Opinions please (PIP)

Hi ladies, I'm looking for your opinions on 2 invitations I'm considering right now.  Here's what I like and don't like about the 2:

This is from Wedding Paper Divas.  I absolutely love the grape vines and leaves, and the purple is perfect for my color theme.  My biggest problem with this invite is that the cardstock is ecru.  I called WPD, and they said they can't change the cardstock color due to copyrights.  My tablecloths, chairs, tent, and flowers are going to be crisp clean white.  Would ecru look ridiculous with so much white at the wedding?

So then I found this invite by Double Trouble Designs on Etsy.  I love the oak tree, and again, this green color is perfect for my theme.  Ventosa has a lovely huge oak tree within their vineyard.  My problem with this invite is that 99% of my guests don't know about Ventosa's tree.  If you received this invite, would you think "Why the heck is there a tree on here"?  haha

So the obvious answer to my questions is that I should keep looking and wait until October to decide.  It's just that I've looked at hundreds of invites, and so far these are my absolute favorite 2.  Please let me know what you think of these 2, and which "problem" I should potentially deal with.  I'll keep searching too, I've got plenty of time.  Just want to know what you all think :)  TIA!

I think #1 fits your theme/venue much better... and unless people bring their invites to the reception (which I don't think normal people do...) to compare them to your table cloths... the ecru vs white should be a non-issue.  If it bugs you that much, you can always hunt around on etsy or online (think I even saw something similar on Vistaprint... probably cheaper too) to find something similar on a white background.

FWIW- most invites hit the garbage shortly after the RSVP is sent back, (ouch, I know... after all of your hard work and obsessing over the *perfect* one)... so I wouldn't worry much about what the guests will compare it to/like.... just go with something you like and that fits the overall theme.

Also, If you have such a long time to decide, I wouldn't order them just yet... you never knoow what they may come up with in the mean time.... they may even copyright something similar on white...

I agree with Monica; no one will notice the color difference and it does fit better.  But I do love that second one -- it's so pretty!

You're right, no one knows about that tree at Ventosa. I only know about it because I said out loud in their tasting room "what's with this tree on all the labels?" and one of the workers politely informed me of the majestic oak tree that graces their vineyard. oops!

I vote #1 because no one but you and your mom will remember that the invite is ecru while your tablecloths are white. Everyone will see the beautiful grape leaf design and think "ohh a vineyard wedding!' It's pretty, don't stress over the shades!

Im with everyone else! I love the first one. I bought my invites at Michaels and they were in no way coordinated to my theme. Think about the weddings youve been to. Did those themes and invites match? Dont remember? Yeah me either.

I say go with #1, or like Monica said, check out vistaprint and see if they have something close in white.

People are inherently stupid. Weddings make it painfully obvious -- KevinandMonica

I ordered mine from WPD too, they were able to change the color of the background for me with mine. They were originally navy blue with pinkish tint, I wanted white and the background was changed to white. I do like the first ones you have.

Thank you SO much for all the input!  I'm definitely keeping the first one in mind, but will continue looking until late fall.  Plenty of time to decide!

I know someone that used the first one for their upcoming Aug wedding! It definitely goes very well with your venue/theme, but I'm all for doing whatever you like. People probably wondered why the heck I did the design that I did, but they will find out when they get there!

I also have the ugliest invitation I've ever seen on my fridge, that doesn't go with the venue or anything AT ALL. As long as there's good music & food I don't really care! :)

Yup, I'm planning on taking a lot of pictures with the oak tree and lake in my background.  Still going to seriously consider the first invitation though, especially since my FI and parents like it!
