So I'm back to the hard part..and I need your recs!

Okay, so I had to put my hunt for a caterer on hold, due to it driving me crazy. While that was on hold I was able to book the DJ and Photog. Now..I'm back to the drawing board with the caterer. I'm already behind schedule on this, so I need your help. I just shot an email over to Paella Tropical, as I've seen some ladies on here using them. Their prices online seem too good to be true though...so I guess I'll see. Any other recs you ladies may have? As crazy as it may sound I would LIKE to stay under 5k for 150 people, but if I absolutely must - I will magically pull money out of the air somehow to make that budget go up a little more. Any help you ladies can give would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

You should try Parties by Pat! Their prices are really great and they let you do a menu tasting before you book. I did a tasting with them and thought their food was pretty good. Ask for Violet when you call, she's super nice and responsive, and I've heard easy to work with. Mena Catering and Eggwhites Catering are really good too.

I know a few knotties that used Paella Tropical and have heard nothing but GREAT things about them..and the too good to be true price is true LOL

I've heard great things about Paella Tropical and Amelia & Carmen and they seem to have the best prices from the ones I've contacted. I just had a tasting with both over the weekend and decided to go with Amelia & Carmen. The owner is very nice, the food was good and prices are amazing. They include appetizers, 5 hr open bar, linens, dishes, glasses, etc. To stay under $5000 you may have to cut some things or maybe limit the bar, but they may work with you. Good luck!
