PIP: My favors!

So the favors are the thing that my fiance is most excited about besides marrying me and his violin shaped groom's cake. He picked out the boxes himself and it's been awesome because he's been making most of them himself. This is what we're doing (tutorial links in my bio):

They're made from playing cards because my FI is a fanatic. Not only does he love card games and poker, he also does slight of hand magic tricks with them. My mom doesn't approve of them because they don't match anything(our colors are green and yellow), but I think they're awesome and they inject a bit of FI's personality into the reception. Plus, they're using up old decks that he has sitting around our apartment.

We're going to fill them with mini reese's and hershey kisses. FI wants to stack them in a big pyramid on a table by the door with the bubbles, but I'm thinking of just putting them at each place setting.

Anyway, what do you guys think?

I love that they have meaning to your fiance. I think the best elements of a wedding are those that really reflect the personalities/lives of the B&G. (or family heritage). I think those are great. And favors absolutely do not need to match the rest of your wedding.

I agree with PP.  It's cool that they reflect your fiance's interests, and no one will care if they aren't the same colors as your wedding colors.  I'm glad you're putting candy in them, too.  As I was reading, I was thinking they were cool but that if the box alone was the favor I probably wouldn't take it.

I love them, for some reason I did not realize it was made of cards right away.. And filling them with candy is a good idea.

I think as long as you line the card boxes before putting the candy in them, it's a great idea.

I really like them! I also think your FI's idea of stacking them in a pyramid (kinda like a house of cards) would look cool. It's adorable that he's so into the favors!
