Intro, and any recommendations?

Hello ladies Smile

I'm new to this board, and would love to get some feedback from some local SoFL girls...

To introduce myself, I'm a 26-yr-old Ph.D. student, marine biologist, scuba diver, photographer, blogger, DIY queen, and urban warrior princess/domestic diva. Slightly snarky with a heart of gold, addicted to Syfy channel killer animal/disaster movies, and is current reigning household champion of Wii bowling, much to the chagrin of FI. FI is a 32-yr-old masters student, marine biologist, scuba diver, and IT wiz kid. A real man's man, but will turn into puddle of coos and baby voices anytime our puppy is around. Has wicked sense of humor, has a penchance for Nintendo NES marathons, and is nearly inseperable from his DirectTV football package. :) We met at my masters defense over a year and a half ago, and after being formally introduced that night, we have been practically inseperable ever since. FI proposed on 12/17 and we're in the process of starting to plan our SoFL wedding.

FI and I have appointments to meet with possible venues this weekend, and I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations or reviews for any of these venues:

Jacaranda Country Club
Plantation Preserve
Crowne Plaza Hollywood Beach
Marriott Hollywood Beach

I would appreciate any feedback that you ladies can provide. Looking forward to getting to know everyone! :)

    Hi welcome to our board.  Congrats!!! 

    I was at a wedding this past summer at the Jacaranda Country Club and it was really pretty.  Our company always host our annual golf tournament at Plantation Preserve and it is also very pretty.  The catering manager there is very easy to work with and has great ideas.  HTH!

    I dont know anything about those venues, but other girls will.

    Welcome and congrats!! You're already a pro with your pic and badges!! 

    The girls on here are a wealth of information and will be so helpful to you! I'd be lost without them :)

    Not too familliar with those venues but an older knottie Jayme got married at Jacaranda and it looked really beautiful!

    Love your "intro"... you're going to love it here. This board is filled with incredible, friendly, and extremely helpful women!

    I'm getting married at The Embassy Suites - Fort Lauderdale. Not sure if you want a hotel but it may be another option for you!

    My little sister got married at Jacaranda and loved it... my parents had such a great experience, that we all eat there every sunday.

    I am getting married at Jacaranda Counry Club in March. They have been great so far! Their packages are really reasonable and they do a great job.     Thanks for all the friendly welcomes ladies, you guys have made me feel so welcome!

    Well, our consults today went really well...we really loved Plantation Preserve and Crown Plaza. Both had great pricing and fit the look we're going for. Marriott was nice, but was pricier than what we're hoping to go for, and I wasn't a fan of the fact that the hotel was in the middle of the touristy part of Hwd Beach.

    We're hitting Jacaranda tomorrow, and given all the good reviews, we're excited! Will update y'all once we meet with them...

    My office has held events at jacaranda and the service is always top notch and the food delish. the prices are VERY fair too.
