wedding Ceremony and Reception

Hi, my Fiance' and I want a ceremony and reception all in one setting, I am in search of a place in the heart of Downtown because we both have family in Kansas and Missouri and need some where for them to meet in the middle.....However, we plan on having a nice wedding on a budget! Help...

There are dozens of places that do both ceremony and reception in KC. It depends on what your budget is and how many people you plan to invite. It also depends on what kind of space you want (modern loft, classic hotel, renovated theatre, etc).

Yes, what kinda feel are you going for?  I'm having my ceremony/reception at Loose Mansion.  Some other locations I checked out were Uptown Theater, Club 1000, Embassy Suites, The Grand Reserve.  All of them impressed me in ways, but I loved the mansion and i'm going with a vintage theme, so it was perfect!

Club 1000 would be perfect for that, i've been to weddings and receptions there, and its gorgeous!

I am getting married at the Arts Incubator - perfect downtown location, lots of liberties to do whatever you want withthe space, no restrictions on caterers. Affordable. And $ goes back to a non profit.

I really do not have a theme that im going for, I am just looking for convience being that we have people coming from both Kansas and Missouri and trying to get them to meet in the middle, which would be downtown...My guest consist of about 250 people, with a budget of roughly 8 or 9,000. I am looking for a place that can accomidate food, decorations, clean up, all in one setting....I looked into Loose Mansion and it seems a little small for the amount of people that I have coming, The sawyer room seemed perfect but they are practically charging 8,000 just for the building and tables.... ;( So Im trying not to wreck my mind trying to look for the perfect venue!! But its getting a little rough!!!

I would agree with PP---check out the Uptown Theater, The Loretto, Club 1000. I am having my reception at The Uptown and they've been GREAT to work with. I've been to a wedding at Club 1000 and they normally have a ceremony on one floor and reception on another which I thought was neat. I would also check out Town Pavilion, and The Scarritt Ballroom. Not 100% sure on size of those but we looked at all of them.

We're getting married at Club 1000 on the 6th Floor Penthouse - both the ceremony and reception are there.  It's almost $4000 to rent alone and I think that their max is 250 for that space, otherwise, you have to get another floor for the ceremony, which is another $1000.  The major upside of this space is that it is really classy - all white loft space, so very little decor is needed.  If your list wasn't so big, i'd say The Uptown, although you may want to dheck since my memory may not be perfect.  We almost went with that space - we have approx. 150 ppl. - and I do remember that we would be able to do rental, food and alcohol for around 10K there.  Sorry to be blunt, but if you really want a downtown space, then you may have to increase your budget - it's not cheap there.

Try the Little Theater (next to Music Hall) if you think you can cut your guests down to 225. The rental is lower than most places and their in house caterer might work with your budget if you do just the basics (or heavy hors dourves).

The Stowe Building is another option. It's currently being renovated, and is in the West Bottoms. I think they let you bring in any caterer you want, so you could save there, too.
