Anyone heard of Wedit?

Saw this on another board and I find myself somewhat interested, but I've never heard of it nor know anyone who has used it?
Thoughts?

Here's the site: clicky

Re: Anyone heard of Wedit?

  • I would be scared that we would lose a camera or something.  Otherwise it is kind of intriguing.  I dont think I would give up my videographer for the world though
  • See, we just don't see paying the cost for a videographer, its extremely high at our destination, but I still would like something so this seems really intriguing
  • I've heard of it but I had hesitations. Even though the videographer was technically out of budget for us we made room for it. Some ppl don't think a professional videog is important but pictures only go so far. Good luck with whatever decision you make. Btw have you thought about having maybe a portion of the wedding done by a pro? Some in our area will do specials to tape just the ceremony and first dances.

  • It seems like a good idea and it's definitely something I'd be interested in, but like Dirty said, I'd be afraid of someone losing or breaking one and then me being held liable for it. Plus, then you have to go and ask 5 of your family and friends to do videotape for you and I think that might be a little rude.

  • Our friends/family members would love the idea, that's totally something that would be enjoyable in their eyes. I did mention it to a couple people to feel it out, and not one that I talked to about it didn't volunteer to take one of the cameras, so that I'm not worried about :)
I think as far as the care of the cameras, we just need to consider taking some precautions, making sure someone collects them at a given time, and taking some consideration into who we give them to...
  • I think it's wonderful and reasonably priced! We are only having the videographer record about 3 hrs of footing so our cost is kept low, but this would have been a viable option - and perhaps still is. I'll show it to FI and see what he thinks.
Is it open to Canadians as well?

  • I'm not sure if it is or not, have been searching the site to find out. In my case if its not, I just have my friend in MI receive the package for me, she's coming to the wedding so that's easy enough.
  • I contacted them and they do ship to Canada. They said there may be an additional $15 handling fee but that would be it :)

  • Even IF someone lost or broke a camera, they are just flip cams, so they wont cost too much to replace.

Just because you saw it on Four Weddings, doesn't mean it's a good idea.

To those concerned about breaking them? Don't be: On the FAQ it says they're insured against damage!

"All the cameras in your order are insured against damage and normal wear and tear. The only way you’ll have to pay for the cameras is if you keep them."

  • I haven't signed anything with the videographer yet and he did'nt seem too hapy that we only wanted about 3 hrs coverage so he may not mind if we cancel.
I think FI would like this idea - we could get some crazy footage LOL

  • I am definitely considering it! FI and I didn't want to spend the money for a videographer and this seems like a really fun way of getting footage! So thanks for posting this! I am so excited about it!

Same here!! I've been in contact with Brett a few times today - can't wait to get home tonight to discuss with FI. The customer service I've received already is stellar!

  • Did anyone end up using Wedit?  I am interested in using them for our wedding in December and I am curious to see how someone else's experience went with them.
