Who are you walking with?

I have another question. :P

I know most brides walk with their father traditionally. My parents are divorced and I'm closer with my mom than my dad. Both relationships are good though. I always knew my dad would walk me down the aisle but I knew my mom deserved it. So I asked her to give me away as well. I'll have both of my parents walk with me. Is this awkward? Anyone doing it or know of anyone who has? Is it easy to manage? Walking between two people down an aisle? How do you hold your bouquet?

I believe this is typical of the Jewish tradition, so it's certainly not unheard of, and I have heard it happening at non-Jewish weddings, too. Generally hte bride holds her bouquet with two hands and her parents take her by each elbow to escort her.

My dad will be walking me, I'm not very close with my mom.

Both of my parents will be walking me down the aisle. I assume I will be holding my bouquet with two hands and they will just link arms with me

FI's cousin had her mom and dad walk her down the aisle and I thought it was very sweet.

I'm in a very similar situation as you. I'm walking down with my dad and once we get to my mom's row, she's going to take my elbow and join us for the rest of the way. They will then both give me away.

My step dad will be walking me down most of the aisle, and my mom will meet us by her seat and walk the rest of the way with us.

Both parents, me holding the bouquet with both hands, mother & father linking arms around mine.

My dad is walking me down the aisle.

I think it's really sweet to have both parents walk you down the aisle, like some of other ppl said just link both arms and hold your flowers with both hands.

My mom is walking me - my dad is deceased. I agree that it'll be sweet to have both parents walk you.

Hugs to you, Laurix. Did your dad pass away just recently? Mine passed away 20 years ago, but I'm still mad at him for not being able to walk me down the aisle. Is there a way for you to acknowledge him somehow? I have my dad's high school class ring, and I'm going to tie it to my bouquet. I've seen other people say they're sewing their father's name into their gowns (was that on this board?) or doing some other small thing to make his presence tangible. I know it's not the same, but it's something.

My oldest brother will be walking me. I don't have a relationship with my father (long, sh*tty story). I'm close with my mom, but I wanted the strong male that has been the closest person to me in my life have this honor. There aren't enough words to express how much it means to have my brother be the one to give me away. Ugh, I'm tearing up just thinkin about it.
