October 2012 Weddings

please tell me I'm over reacting

No I'm being rational in freaking out!!! FMIL called the salon to see if my hairdresser would be able to do her hair for the wedding too since my hairdresser will be on location. Well her assistant aka my makup person said oh homecoming is that day..you'll have to come here. PLEASE tell me you're kidding!!! Please please please! Omfg! Homecoming hair takes all day she probably does 50 girls or more! This wedding has been booked forEVER! She is also supposed to be attending both my wedding and reception. Please tell me she got the dates mixed up! Heck I may not even have Ushers if its homecoming! Its their senior year! BREATHE!!!!

  • deep breath!  all you can do is ask her (and your ushers) if there will be a problem.

  • Was it in your contract that your hair/makeup would be done on location?  If so, I would bring that up.

    Hopefully everything will work out!

  • Breathe... Ok now is there a written contract? If so go find it & check all the verbage.  I hope its just a mix up & the make up lady didn't know what she was talking about.

Deep breaths.  Check your contract and call your MUA and say you're confirming details (time, location, etc).  If you have a contract that specifies the time and date (and that it will be on-site) she will be available, she cannot easily get out of it to go do hair and makeup for homecoming.

I would be surprised if it was actually homecoming; I'm sure one of your ushers would have said something by now.  Google the school's name with homecoming 2012; it should come up.  Good luck!
  • yes breathe!  look at the contract and/or call the salon. plus unless you live in a town with one high school the chances are small that it will be the day of your ushers homecoming :)

  • I don't have a written contract! I live in a very small town..and the more I think about this the more freaked I am. There are only like 2 small hair salons in the whole town, one flower shop which is booked and paid so they BETTER not be a problem...I know they do already have another wedding that same day too! And yes it will be the boys' homecoming because its the only school. I'm sure they haven't even realized it was the same day..you know how boys are! My hair dresser is supposed to call me later. FMIL got to talk with HER and she said she hasn't booked any appointments for that day yet because she didn't know how long I needed her....still doesn't fix the makeup problem and since SHE is the one who said FMIL will have to come there I'm pretty sure she won't be coming! SoOo...I really just want to crawl under the bed and cry and hide until this is ALL over!

  • Google that stuff!! My little sis/bridesmaid is a junior in hs and was freaking out that she'd miss homecoming for the wedding...but I googled ASAP and figured out it was the next weekend.

I agree with PPs SOMEONE would have said something by now.
  • Someone DID say something...today. My hairdresser confirmed with FMIL that it is indeed homecoming. She said she hasn't currently scheduled anyone but I think she may not be willing to travel to us now...I was unable to contact her to discuss it with me working.
