Western NC is beautiful.  I know there are a lot of B&Bs in the Asheville area.   You might try your NC local board for some more specific recommendations:-)

Biltmore is awesome! But it definitely has a big price tag on it!  Lake Lure Inn and Spa is gorgeous too! and reasonably priced!

Ohh i know of a few up there! I used to live in the mountains!

Myers Mountain home (waynesville) - http://www.myersmountainhome.com/ this place is GORGEOUS

Yesterday spaces (asheville) - a restored dairy barn, brand new wedding venue! girlfriend of mine is getting married there next year http://yesterdayspaces.com/

    taylor ranch - fletcher - http://www.taylorranch.com/

And of course Biltmore, though we can't all afford Biltmore, lol

Lake Lure isnt as well priced as one might think, Hope you got 10 Grand for Food. I loved it there an looked an talked about  booking with them  but with the price of food an ceremony locations, an diff stuff started to add up an they dont BUDGE on the price cuz they charge a fee for each an everything an  it added up.. There are several Small inns in Asheville, an Estates but were booked when I looked you might try looking up local wedding venues an just going to look at them an see what gives you the best feel an price.

I liked Homewood, castle ladyhawk, and the crest center.

This is another idea if you are looking for price-restricted: http://www.villageofcheshire.com/

(The indoor reception space can hold about 85 people.)

We were just married at Raffaldini Vineyards on Oct 15th, it was gorgeous and our guests were blown away with the scenery.  I would highly recommend there, but wouldn't do it past mid Oct, it did get chilly that evening and we had our dance floor outside, so I was glad we rented extra heaters!

    Good luck!

My fiance and I are getting married next October at High Hampton Inn, which is gorgeous and has been a pleasure to work with so far.  You can also look at The Farm which is right outside of Asheville or my friend got married at The Apple Barn which is closer to Boone.  Both those places are great for barn settings!

You should check out the Blowing Rock area. It is a little less know, but an absolutly stunning area of North Carolina. I am attending a wedding show there November 18th-20th. They are actually transporting to different venues for tours! You should check out the show's website http://www.weddingshowofthencmtns.com
