  My guess would be spring, but you would probably be better off posting this on your local board (see left bar) so people in your area can give you more knowledgable feedback...

  I would post this on your local board and also talk to people at the venue and get their feedback from previous weddings. I am getting married in a month in northern Illinois and usually summer is closing down by August but it is been in the 90's with the heat index in the 100's for weeks here. It is a major concern that my fiance' is going to be miserable in his tux and not want to do any fun photos.

  What if you did it in september then, the 2nd wk maybe, it would it still be warm enough but not  so hot you feel horrible?

  It seems to me you're really set on an August wedding date. If it's possible, maybe having the ceremony outside and reception indoors would work better for you and your dress.

  I grew up in Sacramento.  It is HOT HOT HOT in Sacramento in August.  I would go to the end of September,first week of October or spring. If you go spring, you run the risk of rain though.

  IFor an outdoor weeding , the absolute latest I would do is towards the end of June. Our wedding was June 23rd and it was an outdoor weeding (beautiful) but everyone says we must have had a direct line to God because the day before was scortching hot , the day of was low 80's with a light breeze . So seriously consider you and your guest on an August date .

  September! I'm from the South so I know heat (and humidity!) We're specifically having our wedding at the end of September because it will still be warm but our groomsmen and my groom won't sweat in their suits.
