PSA--The Cake Guys!

I have been researching cake pricing and scheduling my tastings lately, and of course ran across The Cake Guys. I was really disappointed when I saw that you had to put down a $100 deposit BEFORE you picked up the samples, so I was hesitant (even though there was a money back guarantee). Now they have started 'Sample Saturdays' that require no deposit to taste their cakes--you just have to go to their website and select the Saturday that you want to have your tasting. I don't think it is a full-on consultation, but you don't have to drop any cash upfront.

I wasn't sure if this was holding anyone back from using them like it was for me, but wanted to share since I just got my confirmation email for this Saturdays tasting. I really like the simplicity of their packages since I'm not prepared to drop serious cash on the cake. Our first quote was over $1K!!!!

I got my wedding cake from the Cake Guys.  It was delicious and beautiful.  I'm so happy they do regular cakes now there too.  I have already told Ben I want one for my birthday in April.  :)

They did not have their "budget" line of cakes when I was looking so I had a full-on consultation and tasting.  They also gave me free samples to serve at our "meet the parents" dinner and our parents were practically licking the plates clean.

Even if you don't have a formal tasting before paying, many of us can attest to how good their cakes are.  Of course, cake tastings are the funnest parts of wedding planning!

Neat! I was bummed about their deposit policy when I saw it. Glad to see they've changed their policies.

I got to try their cakes at a Duncanville Chamber of Commerce mixer for the Dr. I work for a few months back. I remember the chocolate tasting a little like cinnamon. I can't stand cinnamon :(

I was actually looking at the sweet inspirations package as well since the prices were so great, so it is nice to see that someone else has tried it and liked it as well

This is wonderful! I was planning to go with Delicious Cakes since I've worked with them in the past, but with these great prices (and seeing Stephie's stellar review) I may need to check them out. If they have a champagne flavored cake, I may be sold!

    Thanks Courtski!

I love Delicious Cake's champagne flavored!!! YUM

I was at the open house for the Piazza back in Aug when they were there. The cake they had was some type of vanilla cake with raspberries in it....yum!

Sadly, no champagne flavor...that was my FAVE at Delicious Cakes!!! They were my first choice since they are a stones throw from my venue, but I really can't justify spending so much on my cakes. It will take some serious negotiating for me to convince J to give up his dream of the Kaluha Mocha grooms cake though. Ugh, decisions!

I was wondering the same thing..

I mean, the good news is people are using the search feature instead of posting a million new threads saying the same thing.

The bad news is we end up with useless bumps.

Also, sometimes TK shows omg old threads in the "Hot Topics" link.
