Alternative to a wedding cake

My man and I don't enjoy anything about cake. He's not much of a sweets guy in general, however I LOVE chocolate. We talked about pie or a fondu buffet for dessert. What are some alternatives to getting a wedding cake?

We're having a dessert buffet with several kinds of cake (I think one chocolate, one lemon), blueberry crisp with ice cream, chocolate fondue, sorbet (sorry, vegans, but at least it's homemade sorbet), and mlik shooters with cookies (I saw a picture and really liked them).

It would be nice to have something that he likes and something that you like, so maybe something heavy on the choclate and then a fruit tart or sponge cake or whatever it is that your FI likes.  I (obviously) like having the fondue option, too.  FWIW I've heard that chocolate fountains are a lot of hassle and expensive, and the chocolate doesn't even taste that awesome, so our venue will put out a chafing dish with melted chocolate for our fondue.

    Dessert Bar
    Pies
    Cheesecake
    Cookies
    Ice Cream Sunda Bar
Chocolate Fountain (I do not suggest this at a wedding with poorly behaved/supervised kids... I went to a wedding where they were filling up cups in the fountain and drinking it, and spilling it everywhere)

Anything sweet should do the trick :)

Oooh kids with cups of chocolate. I didn't even think of that. Thanks for the pointer. I like the idea of an ice cream sundae bar. Dessert buffet is great too. Thanks for the ideas :)

My fiancee hates cake but I still wanted the traditional "cake cutting." So we are doing the top of our cake cheesecake )thats his favorite dessert) and then cupcakes for the rest of the tower.
Then we are having a dessert bar with mini cheesecakes, original flavor and chocolate/original marble. We are also having mango and papaya shooters and chocolate raspberry shooters and chocolate covered tuxedo strawberries!!!

My FI and I are also doing  dessert bar. I want to do the cake cutting part, so we're going to have a much smaller cake for us to cut. I think the guest will appreciate that even though we didn't want a huge expensive cake, the dessert bar will have something for young and old alike. (We're including sugar free desserts for our grandparents)
