OC Sailing & Events Center - Dana Point

Hi! I'm gonna call them on Tuesday to schedule an appointment. So far they seem like the most affordable and convenient venue for ceremony & reception.

I was just curious if anyone has inquired with them, or has had their wedding there. What was it like? How did it go? Is there anything that you didn't like about it? What did you like about it the most?

I'd appreciate your input! Thank you! :)

I was also thinking about visiting this venue and would love to hear those answers and experiences from others as well!

My soon to be sister in law just got married their last October.

It is a very affordable wedding site. It is located within the Dana Point Harbor.  The site is great because with your site fee you get tables and chairs that you can use.  They were easy to work with and we did not have any problems.  Overall, I thought it was a great location with both indoor and outdoor spaces.

    Good luck!

This place is legit. My friends had a 5-6k wedding budget. They got hitched last May and had it not been for this place's affordable pricing they may have not made their budget. Only thing is you will have to pull some strings if you want alcohol. It was BYO which is a plus but my friends had to hire a police officer to hang out outside just in case anything got crazy. Good Luck!

We just reserved it for 11/12/11! I've only seen one website with photo's from a wedding at this venue.

If anyone knows of any others please let me know. I'd like to see how other people set-up/decorated so that I can get some inspiration. Yay! So excited!! Smile

SpecialEyes, what was the total cost of the package at OC Sailing & Events Center?  I'm still looking for a budget-conscious venue!

LisaChris, the price depends on whether or not you will be serving alcohol. With alcohol we're paying $194 per hour. Without alcohol it's $100 per hour. The space comes with round tables and chairs that I think accomodate approx 150 ppl. A permit fee of $194 must also be paid to the County...you pay the fee and provide a list of your vendors (who must have valid liability insurance). If you contact them for info they can email you reservation info, a floor plan, etc. I'm pleased with the affordability of this venue. Just nervous about coordinating all of the vendors since we are doing it all ourselves, no wedding planner. Smile

  • I am getting married there in August.  Anyone know about Insurance you can buy from the city?  I read on Yelp that you can buy your own insurance from the city (for like $80 or so) and then you don't have to worry about getting all your vendors on the city's list.  You still have to pay the permit fees, but it seems like this would be easier than getting all the vendors on the city approved list.  I have been placing calls to people in the city, but have not heard back yet.  I am nervous about getting everything set!

If you can't get your own insurance, any idea how to get the vendor's on the city's approved list??

    Any help would be appreciated!!!
