Did You Get Your Wedding Related Plans Accomplished This Weekend?

I didn't get as much accomplished as I would have liked to, but I got some things done.  The main thing is I got my taxes done....yay!  I know that's non-wedding related but it's been hanging over my head, hence the crazy dream I had the other night (see my post crazy dream). 

DIY Projects
I went to Michael's because they were having a great sale and I had a coupon.  I purchased items for my program fans, but FI and I took  back the cardstock that I bought because he said the size was too big for fans.  While I was there I found some cute lil' note pads and note cards with wine glasses to give to my BMs which are in keeping with my wine inspired theme.  Also, Hobby Lobby was having a sale on bridal stuff, so I bought some rose petals and ribbons.  Oh!  And I found some fuchsia beads for the BM jewelry...yay!  Finally!

Invitations
I worked on the template and wording for the invitations.  Didn't print anything out yet, though.  I am contemplating on buying these really nice pearlescent metallic envelopes, but my FSIL says that's excessive because people are just going to throw them away, but they are so nice!

Hair Trial
Went to a new hair stylist to try out my wedding hair style.  Although my hair looks great today, she did not do a good job of demonstrating how the look will be achieved the day of the wedding, and that was the whole point, so it's back to the drawing board.

What about you ladies, get anything done this weekend?

    The only thing WR I had this weekend was a GTG with other So Cal Oct 2010 Knotties. So that was accomplished...LOL!!!

    Now ask me this next weekend and see what my response is...LOL!

    no... Im in the works of meeting a new photographer. He works with my uncle in LA somewhere and hes supposed o be "THE TRUTH" so well see...

    I got our ring bearers suit today and purchased FI's wedding ring. I also finished our petal cones.

    tamtam did you try joanns fabric they actually have the fan kits, I want to say the are 9.99 or 14.99 for 50 fans and they come with the sticks and ribbon already and they accept michaels coupons. also i saw them at my local marshalls and tj maxx store 3.99 for 50.

    I had a Bridal Spa Party this weekend and it was awesome!!! Can't wait for our Engagement Party Luau in Alabama on May 29!! YAY!!!!

    Ummmm only thing I got done WR was speaking with uncle about marrying us.
    NWR is another whole story... Ladies Robin Thicke and Mary J tore it down last night. So for the next three days while Im in Miami, I have a meeting with my venue, cake tasting, food tasting, floral trial, shopping tomorrow for MOB and my grandma's wedding day ensembles.

    shut up MIABRIDE!  No, just kidding, I am genuinely happy for you (she says under tightly clinched teeth).  I really would like to see Mary J. Blige in concert, but I am working on being happy for others...so, that's great! I am really really happy for you (she says with a forced smile on her face) LOL

    @ MIA: Did you happen to catch Eric Roberson at the concert in Miami?  I heard he was performing there and he's one of my favorite (and lesser known) artists!!   Glad you enjoyed Mary and Robin - they both put on great shows!  Did Robin rap?  LOL!  He did "A Millie" when he was here in ATL and we rolled!!  Laughing

    I got some good work done this weekend that was WR.  
    - Picked up my wedding dress!  One very minor disappointment was I got there to pick it up and they brought it out all rolled up in a tight plastic bag, like what a comforter would be sold in!  Yell  I was looking extra crazy and she said "You didn't purchase a garment bag when you placed the special order, so we couldn't remove it from the bag."  Ummm, excuse me but no one told me when to buy the garment bag - I could have bought it whenever I was supposed to!  Ugh.  But once I got past that, I bought the garment bag and tried on the dress.  It fit like a glove!  NO alterations needed!  I am so happy I've been working out though- LOL.  Otherwise it would've been ugly.  Several customers told me how beautiful it was on me, so I was happy.  I tried it on with my tiara, veil, earrings and the same height shoes that I will wear.  Everything was amazing!   It's in my spare bedroom right now and it feels kind of weird knowing my wedding dress is laying down in the next room! 

    - I met with my classmate today and we set up our wedding website!  That was a huge load off my shoulders.  I am still working on updating some of the text right now.  I was very excited about the Google Docs option for including a RSVP form that will export directly into an Excel spreadsheet to keep a running total of who responded and whether they're coming or not.  Yay! 

    - I didn't talk to either of my friends about doing make up trials.  Oh well, I can do that this week sometime.

    - I watched old reruns on Platinum Weddings and Bridezilla On Demand yesterday, so I got some ideas (most of what NOT to do - LOL).

    I had the most fantastic weekend!! My mom and aunt surprised me by coming into town this weekend. I knew my mother was coming because my shower was today, but I didn't know my aunt was gonna be here, so that was a HUGE deal.. I also got to take them to my final fitting and they got to see my shoes and my veil since it was recently delivered. Not only that, they got to see my venue and all the space and the weather was perfect, so I honestly couldn't have planned a better weekend..

    Also, my shower was perfect!! A few ppl that said they were gonna come didn't show up, but that was ok. It was just an awesome afternoon..I am getting married three weeks from today and I can honestly say I am OFFICIALLY EXCITED!!

    I had a productive WR day on Thursday which was a furlough day for me. I found our caterer, decided for sure which planner we wanted (decided not to go with family despite the cost), decided on the florist, scheduled our e-pics, and ruled out several venues.

    Got my invitations done! My FI and son went and bought their suits and matching red shirts with silver and black ties. We bought all the GMs' ties to make sure they have matching ties, on sale for $10 each! Now we just have to make the last payment to the caterer, pick up linens, and I have to get undergarments.

    Nope. I decided to take a break from wedding planning for the weekend. I ended up going to my bestie's nephews 1st b-day party and then took care of some homework on Sunday. I tried to do it (wedding related plans) but couldn't just didn't feel like doing it this weekend. So I'll get back to it this week and next week/weekend. I'll be moving this weekend so no time for it.
